New York Red Bulls vs Minnesota prediction: Minnesota to edge it?
Key stats
- The Red Bulls are winless in two games, having previously won four in a row in all competitions.
- Minnesota have lost just one of their last seven matches across all competitions.
- The previous six H2Hs have averaged around 2.2 goals per game.
Correct score prediction: New York Red Bulls 1-2 Minnesota
Given that they are in better form and in a superior position in their respective league, we are backing Minnesota to win this one. The Red Bulls should still put up a decent fight though, and the most recent H2Hs suggest that this could be a rather unpredictable clash.

Player to watch: Bongokuhle Hlongwane
Bongokuhle Hlongwane was key in Minnesota's 3-1 win against Houston last time out. Indeed, he scored a brace in three second-half minutes to break the deadlock in what was before a cagey affair.

Hlongwane had only scored one previous goal in the MLS this season before that, but also recorded two assists in 18 appearances. If he continues to play on the wing instead of right-back, there will be plenty more opportunities for him to make a difference in the final third.
