Correct score prediction: New York Red Bulls 3-2 Inter Miami

While being one of the worst travellers in the MLS, the New York Red Bulls have conversely been one of the best home teams, as eight of their nine wins have come at Sports Illustrated Stadium.

In fact, Sandro Schwarz's men are unbeaten in their last seven home games across all competitions (W6, D1), and they have scored over three goals on average in that stretch.

Although Inter Miami have a 2-2-2 win-draw-loss record in their last six away games, it is worth mentioning that they suffered a 4-0 defeat in their last trip to this stadium.

All things considered, we are leaning toward New York Red Bulls for the win.

New York Red Bulls preview: Some injury concerns

A second half of attacking bliss saw NY Red Bulls overturn a 0-2 deficit in the first half to beat New England Revolution 5-3, with Emil Forsberg and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting each bagging a brace. The victory halted the team's run of five league games without a win, putting them in good condition to face Inter Miami.

The Red Bulls are expected to be without a number of attacking players for this game, including right-winger Cameron Harper, who is dealing with a knee issue; striker Roald Mitchell, who is not quite match fit; and left-sided forward Lewis Morgan, who has a thigh injury.

In-form Choupo-Moting and Forsberg will look to inspire the hosts once more, as they aim to register back-to-back wins for the first time since 1 June.

Predicted lineup: Coronel (GK), Eile, Nealis, Hack, Sofo, Stroud, Edelman, Duncan, Forsberg, Choupo-Moting & Carmona.

Inter Miami preview: Goalkeeping crisis

Inter Miami could not contain the attacking firepower of Cincinnati in the early hours of Thursday, as midfield maestro Evander inspired the Orange and Blues to a 3-0 win over Lionel Messi and his teammates, ending the Herons’ five-game winning streak in the league.

Going into this clash, Javier Mascherano's side will look to bounce back to winning ways and can be confident of doing so, as they are on the back of two consecutive away wins.

The team is facing a crisis in the goalkeeping department as Oscar Ustari was substituted in the 26th minute of the clash at Cincinnati due to an injury, adding to the absence of Drake Callender, who is still nursing a groin injury. This means that Inter Miami will likely be without their first- and second-choice shot-stoppers.

Also, Ian Fray remains out due to a meniscus injury.

Predicted lineup: Novo (GK), Alba, Aviles, Falcon, Weigandt, Busquets, Redondo, Segovia, Allende, Suarez & Messi.

Player to watch: Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi failed to get on the scoresheet in Inter Miami's disappointing 3-0 defeat at Cincinnati earlier this week, ending his streak of five consecutive league games with 2+ goals. Considering the 38-year-old has seven direct goal involvements in his last two meetings with New York Red Bulls (2 goals, 5 assists), it will be interesting to see how he performs this weekend.
