Key stats
- Our Netherlands vs Turkey betting tips take into account that four of the last five internationals involving the Turks have seen both teams score.
- Ronald Koeman’s side have scored twice or more in seven of their last nine fixtures.
- Only Spain and Germany can better the goal tallies of these two sides at Euro 2024 with both nations on seven apiece.
Correct score prediction: Netherlands 2-1 Turkey
Both sides have shown plenty of attacking intent but also moments of defensive frailty at this tournament which suggests we’ll get goals. The Dutch looked to find an extra gear in the last round though with 23 attempts and 66% possession in a 3-0 win over Romania suggesting they are now a genuine force to be reckoned with on the weaker half of the draw.

Key duels
Nathan Ake vs Arda Guler
Arda Guler lit up the tournament with a stunning goal in the group stage and the Real Madrid youngster is likely to be one of Turkey’s chief attacking threats here. He may be used on the right flank which should see him come up against Nathan Ake who averages 2.8 clearances and 1.8 tackles per game at Euro 2024.
Xavi Simons vs Kaan Ayhan
The Netherlands have their own precocious young talent in the shape of Xavi Simons who has registered three assists in the tournament, more than any other player. Kaan Ayhan, who has clocked up the third most minutes of any Turkish player at Euro 2024, may be tasked with stopping him.
Memphis Depay vs Abdulkerim Bardakci
Memphis Depay is one of eight Dutch players to have started every game in Germany and he should lead the line again here. Abdulkerim Bardakci will be hoping to thwart him though and the 29 year old centre back averages 5.0 clearances and 1.0 blocks per game at this tournament.
Player to watch – Cody Gakpo
Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo has built on a strong World Cup with an impressive Euro campaign. The 25 year old has scored three and assisted one and is a leading golden boot candidate heading into the quarter-finals.
Gakpo already the main man for The Netherlands
Aside from his goals, Gakpo has also completed 2.8 key passes per game at this tournament, more than any other Dutch player. He also averages 1.8 dribbles and 2.8 shots per game in Germany this summer.
Winner’s next potential opponents
One step away from the EURO semi-final, which would be a great result for both Turkey and Netherlands, and whoever gets there will play either England or Switzerland.
Turkey have a very bad H2H record against England since they have yet to beat the Three Lions after 11 meetings in which they've lost nine times and draw twice. Meanwhile, Turkey have a positive record against Switzerland: 8-3-5. So, they would clearly prefer the Swiss as their next opponent.
When it comes to the Netherlands, they have done well against England in the past and have a winning H2H record: 7-9-6. However, things are different when it comes to Switzerland since the Dutch are tied with them at 15 wins each, along with three draws.
Anyhow, if the Netherlands or Turkey can reach the final of the EURO 2024, they would either meet with Spain or France/Portugal.
