The first piece of silverware of the Italian season will be decided on Monday, as Napoli take on Bologna in the Super Cup final at the Stadio Comunale Via del Mare.
Napoli headed to Saudi Arabia on the back of two consecutive competitive defeats, but a convincing 2-0 win over reigning Supercoppa holders AC Milan in the semi-final kept their hopes of lifting the trophy for the first time since 2014 alive.
The Partenopei have now claimed six victories from their last eight competitive outings, ending a four-match run without a clean sheet against Milan, and will be aiming to secure a third Supercoppa title in their last six appearances.
Bologna, on the other hand, booked their place in the final with a penalty shootout triumph over Inter Milan, allowing them to win the Supercoppa Italiana for the first time in their history.
The neutral venue may play into the hands of Vincenzo Italiano’s side, who are unbeaten in their last nine matches away from the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, although the Rossoblu will need to record back-to-back wins for the first time this month.

Napoli preview: New returnees for Conte
Antonio Conte rang the changes for Thursday’s semi-final, resting regular starters Alessandro Buongiorno and Sam Beukema and it remains uncertain whether the pair will return to Napoli’s three-man defence for the final.
Options in midfield are far more limited for the Scudetto holders; although Stanislav Lobotka made his return last week, Kevin De Bruyne, Frank Anguissa and Billy Gilmour all remain unavailable.
There is more encouragement in attack, however, as Romelu Lukaku was named on the bench against AC Milan after spending four months on the sidelines, offering Conte a timely boost up front.
Predicted lineup: Milinkovic-Savic (GK), Beukema, Rrahmani, Buongiorno, Di Lorenzo, Lobotka, McTominay, Spinazzola, Lang, Neres, Hojlund
Last five fixtures
- 18.12.25 – Napoli 2–0 AC Milan (Supercoppa)
- 14.12.25 – Udinese 1–0 Napoli

Bologna will be without Remo Freuler and first-choice goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski, who top the Rossoblu’s list of absentees, while Federico Bernardeschi was forced off during Friday’s semi-final with a collarbone injury and is also unavailable.
Vincenzo Italiano has further worries in defence, with Nicolo Casale ruled out and both Jhon Lucumí and Martin Vitík struggling for full fitness ahead of the final.
Predicted lineup: Ravaglia (GK), Holm, Lucumi, Heggem, Miranda, Moro, Ferguson, Orsolini, Odgaard, Cambiaghi, Castro

Player to watch: David Neres
Napoli winger David Neres has developed a habit of striking early, opening the scoring in each of his last four matches in which he has found the net, including the Supercoppa semi-final. Even more telling is his timing in front of goal, with all of his last five goals for the Partenopei coming before half-time.

Neres’ pace, direct running, and ability to exploit space between the lines make him a constant early threat. If Napoli are to seize control of the final, the Brazilian is likely to be at the heart of their attacking momentum.
