Read all of the latest injury updates and team news for this duel, including our predicted Nantes vs Marseille lineups.

Nantes

Nantes earned their first point of the season last weekend when saving a lucky 3-3 home draw vs Monaco. The Canaries scored 3 goals with 3 shots on target, Mohamed scored 2 of those, but they were largely outplayed yet again.

Conceded 2 or more goals in every round so far and have looked very shaky at the back at times.

The main goalie Lafonte, a key player, is out injured. Descamps trying his best to provide cover but he hasn’t been very good. The starting centre-back Zaza is also sidelined. There is a danger that the other main centre-back Castelletto could leave the club this week but for now, he remains a Nante player.

Predicted Lineup:

Descamps (GK), Pierre-Gabriel, Pallois, Castelletto, Coco, Chirivella, Gomes, Merlin, Simon, Mohamed & Baba

Marseille

Marseille played a solid home game vs Brest last weekend and deservedly won 2-1. Created plenty of chances despite having less than 50% possession.

Only 2 points dropped from the first 3 league games mean Marseille sit 2nd in the standings. They also scored 2 goals in every round so far and have reasons to feel confident after beating the Canaries in all of their last 4 meetings.

Harit is expected to overcome a minor knock on time and play. Kondogbia remains the only serious injury concern. He will be out again but in Veretout a quality cover is available.

Predicted Lineup:

Lopez (GK), Clauss, Mbemba, Gigot, Lodi, Sarr, Rongier, Veretout, Harit, Aubameyang & Ndiaye

Player to Watch: Chancel Mbemba

Marseille’s centre-back Chancel Mbemba likes this fixture. He scored 2 goals in the last 4 matches vs Nantes and the aggressive defender is always a threat at set pieces. He was also voted Player of the Match in 2 of the last 4 H2Hs. Could Mbemba be shining brightest in this contest again?
