Ajax will be out to secure consecutive victories for the first time since January when they visit the Rat Verlegh Stadion to face NAC Breda on Saturday. While Oscar Garcia’s men could move within one point of the automatic Champions League qualifying places, the home side will be aiming to climb out of the relegation zone.

NAC Breda dropped two more points in their scramble for survival last time out as they played out a 1-1 draw with Fortuna Sittard when the two sides met at the Fortuna Stadion on April 12.
The visitors were staring down at a third defeat in four games when Kristoff Peterson netted in the 56th minute to put Fortuna in front, but Mohamed Nassoh struck in the second minute of stoppage time to force a share of the spoils.
NAC Breda have now gone six consecutive games without a win, losing three and claiming three draws since picking back-to-back victories over Heracles and Volendam back in February, a run which has put their two-year stint in the top flight under threat.
Following last season’s 15th-placed finish, Carl Hoefkens’s men are set for another tussle to stay afloat, as they sit 17th in the Eredivisie standings with 25 points from 30 games, three points away from safety with just four games to go.
While NAC will be looking to find their feet this weekend and climb out of the bottom three, they are faced with the daunting challenge of an opposing side unbeaten in 22 of their last 23 meetings, claiming 18 wins and four draws since February 2008.
On the other hand, Ajax turned in a dominant team display last time out when they cruised to a 3-0 victory over bottom-dweller Heracles on April 11 to keep their hopes of automatic Champions League qualification well and truly alive.
Despite finishing with 10 men, the visitors showed their class at the Asito Stadium, with Miko Godts opening the scoring with a 16th-minute strike before Steve Berghuis netted a brace to condemn Heracles to their 21st defeat of the campaign.
Heading into the season’s run-in, the performance at the Asito Stadium should serve as a timely boost for Ajax, who have blown hot and cold of late, having managed just one win from their previous six league matches.
Garcia’s men have picked up 13 wins and 12 draws from their 30 Eredivisie matches so far to collect 51 points and sit fifth in the league standings, four points behind second-placed Feyenoord in the automatic Champions League qualification spot.

Whispers predicts: NAC Breda 1-2 Ajax
Ajax have managed just two wins from their last eight games in a topsy-turvy run of form, but they will be licking their lips this weekend when they take on a NAC Breda side who have lost six of their last seven encounters.
While we expect NAC to put up a fight this weekend as they look to salvage their season, a return of just one win from their last nine home games offers little optimism, with Ajax our firm favourites to claim all three points at 2.05.
Garcia’s men have led at half time in five of their last seven games against NAC, and the odds for 2/2 currently sit at 3.25, while with each of their last seven meetings seeing over 2.5 goals, Ajax to win + 2-4 goals at 3.40 is perhaps the value bet for us.
Godts has been a standout performer for Ajax this season and the 20-year-old striker to register a goal or assist is currently priced at 1.83, while the correct score market has a correct score of 1-2 at 9.00.
> Ajax to win - Yes at 2.05 | Likelihood: Possible
> Ajax to win + BTTS - Yes at 3.75 | Likelihood: Possible
> HT/FT - Ajax/Ajax at 3.25 | Likelihood: Probable
> Correct score: 1-2 at 9.00 | Likelihood: Outsider
