The countdown for the 2026 World Cup is underway, and teams are preparing for the showdown event with international friendlies. Morocco and Paraguay draw swords at Stade Bollaert-Delelis in Lens.
Morocco recently saw CAF declare them winners of AFCON 2025, and they took to the pitch for the first time since the tournament with a 1-1 draw with Ecuador. Meanwhile, Paraguay, played their first match this year against Greece, winning 1-0.

Under sensational circumstances, Morocco saw their AFCON loss overturned two months after the final. CAF declared the Atlas Lions as winners of the 2025 edition after Senegal staged a walk-off after Morocco were awarded a late penalty, which Brahim Diaz eventually missed.
The controversial final led to the departure of Walid Regragui, replaced by Mohamed Ouahbi. The new Belgian-born coach is yet to win a match for the senior side following Morocco’s 1-1 daw with Ecuador.
Morocco have five clean sheets in their last six fixtures in normal time.
At Atletico Madrid’s Metropolitano Stadium, John Yeboah opened the scoring after the break, before Neil El Aynaoui equalised at the death.

Since their World Cup qualifying campaign, Paraguay have played five friendlies. They went winless I the first three, including losing 2-1 to USA, before bouncing back with two victories.
Most recently, they beat Greece 1-0 at Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium thanks to Diego Gomez’s 52nd minute strike.
Manager Gustavo Alfaro has no issues amongst his squad to deal with.
