Although Monaco were third in Ligue 1 last season, it is worth mentioning that they had a whopping 23 points fewer than Paris Saint-Germain, who won the title.
On the other hand, Le Havre barely managed to stay in the French top flight, finishing just a point above the relegation zone.
Ahead of this skirmish, Monaco are the expected winners at 1/3 (1.33). Teams with these odds usually have a 75% probability of winning.

Monaco preview: No major injury concerns
A third-place finish in Ligue 1 last season means that Monaco’s dream of returning to the top of French football continues into this campaign, as no team has been able to stop Paris Saint-Germain’s tight grip on the domestic top flight in four consecutive years.
Holding midfielder Soungoutou Magassa was sent off in Monaco’s last game of the 2024-25 season against Lens and serves a one-match suspension here. His absence should make way for either Paul Pogba or Lamine Camara in the starting XI.
On-loan Barcelona forward Ansu Fati and former Bayer Leverkusen shot-stopper Lukas Hradecky are candidates to make their debut this weekend, but starting grace in goal is expected to fall to Philipp Kohn, who has been the undisputed man between the sticks for the Red and Whites.
Predicted lineup: Kohn (GK), Vanderson, Singo, Kehrer, Henrique, Akliouche, Zakaria, Camara, Minamino, Biereth & Ilenikhena.

Le Havre preview: Eyeing a strong start
Le Havre defeated Strasbourg 3-2 in their final game of last season, which secured their place in the top flight. Tasked to still lead Les Havrais this term, Didier Digard will look to motivate his troops to an opening-week win on the road, a result that could potentially set them up for a fantastic season.
Forward Elysee Logbo is out of contention with a shoulder injury; as a result, the 21-year-old has missed the last 17 games for the visitors.
Coach Digard will probably start with a three-man attack lineup, with Younes Namli, Mbwana Ally Samatta and Issa Soumare in the final third.
Predicted lineup: Diaw (GK), Nego, Sangante, Kinkoue, Delaine, Kechta, Toure, Ndiaye, Namli, Samatta & Soumare.

Player to watch: Mika Biereth

Mika Biereth was impressive during Monaco's preseason campaign, scoring four goals and providing an assist in his last six appearances. The Danish forward will look to continue his fine form when these teams square off against each other this weekend.
