Odense – Midtjylland Preview: Latest Form, News, and Potential Lineups

Read all of the latest injury updates and team news for this duel, including our predicted Odense vs Midtjylland lineups.

Odense

Odense finally managed to stop their 4-game losing run in the league last time around. A rare solid defensive display brought a 1-0 away win vs Nordsjaelland. This was the first clean sheet of the season for Odense.

Odense continue to have the worst home record in the entire league though – W0 D2 L4. They also conceded at least 2 goals in 5 of those 6 home matches.

The options in midfield remain restricted. Both Jensen and Slotsager, starting often when available, remain in rehabilitation. There are three other midfielders considered doubtful due to minor injuries or illness. Also, the important centre-back Owusu threatens to miss with an unspecified injury. He is very hard to replace.

Predicted Lineup:

Hansen (GK), Adelgaard, Paulsen, Helander, Mickelson, Manneh, Al Hajj, Kohler, Deedson, Buya Turay & Kadril

Midtjylland

Midtjylland were held to a frustrating 2-2 away draw vs Randers in the last round. The Wolves dominated and should have won but poor focus in defence when asked to deal with set pieces proved costly.

Midtjylland are unbeaten in the last 5 rounds but they managed to win only 2 of those games and this is why they remain outside the top 3.

On the road the form of the Wolves had been pretty average so far – W2 D1 L2. Conceded 10 goals in those 5 away matches and this is a weakness.

Striker Marrony remains the only sidelined player. Martinez and Andersson are also not 100% fit but they both train again and might be passed fit on time.

Predicted Lineup:

Lossl (GK), Dyhr, Paulinho, Dalsgaard, Juninho, Romer, Charles, Gigovic, Martinez, Cho & Dju

Player to Watch: Gue-Sung Cho

Midtjylland’s South Korean striker Gue-Sung Cho has been excellent for the Wolves so far. In just 9 league starts this season Cho already netted 5 goals. He also scored a crucial goal in Europe back in August and has been on the scoresheet for South Korea recently too.

Considering his form and Odense’s shaky defence we can see Cho increasing his tally for the season.
