Mexico's fine form continued with a 2-0 victory over Ghana last week. They are now unbeaten in six consecutive matches, keeping five clean sheets in the process.
It is worth mentioning that the CONCACAF Gold Cup champions are co-hosts of the 2026 FIFA World Cup alongside Canada and the United States. Javier Aguirre's side have preparatory friendlies against Australia and Serbia before their opening game against South Africa in two weeks.
Captain Edson Alvarez could get more playing time after recovering from an ankle injury last week. Marcel Ruiz is out with a torn ACL, as is Luis Malagon, who ruptured his Achilles.
At the same time, Raul Jimenez and Santiago Gimenez could be rested because of an illness and a sore ankle, respectively.
