Ajax or draw

Ajax have lost just one of the seven matches they've played so far this season

Marseille will take on Ajax in game week two of the UEFA Champions League, with both teams already on the back foot after losing their opening matches in the competition.

Marseille lost out to Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in their opening match, while Ajax suffered a home defeat to Inter Milan. Can either side get a much-needed win on Tuesday night?

As part of this week's round of Champions League betting tips, check out our Marseille vs Ajax prediction below.

Marseille vs Ajax prediction: Visitors to take something

Key Stats

  • Ajax have drawn all three of the away matches they've played this season.
  • Marseille have lost three of seven matches played this season.
  • Both teams have scored in four of Ajax's last five games.

There isn't an awful lot to split these two teams on paper, and although Marseille are usually fairly reliable on home soil, this Ajax team do have a knack of picking up positive results on the road.

Marseille preview: Still no sign of Kondogbia

Geoffrey Kondogbia isn't expected to start for Marseille on Tuesday night due to a calf strain that he suffered in the club's last Champions League match against Real Madrid. Ruben Blanoc and Hamed Traore are also expected to miss out due to knee and leg problems, respectively.

Predicted lineup: Rulli (GK), Pavard, Balerdi, Medina, Palmieri, Hojberg, O’Riley, Greenwood, Gomes, Weah, Aubameyang

Last five results

  • Strasbourg 1-2 Marseille
  • Marseille 1-0 PSG
  • Real Madrid 2-1 Marseille
  • Marseille 4-0 Lorient
  • Lyon 1-0 Marseille

Ajax preview: Issues up top

Ajax have been plagued by injuries to forwards in recent weeks, and at the weekend, it was Kasper Dolberg's turn to sit out. Dolberg remains a doubt for the trip to France, but Wout Weghorst should be okay after the experienced striker returned from the bench at the weekend.

Predicted lineup: Jaros (GK), Gaaei, Sutalo, Baas, Wijndal, McConnell, Klaassen, Taylor, Edvardsen, Weghorst, Godts

Last five results

  • Tottenham 1-1 Wolves
  • Tottenham 3-0 Doncaster
  • Brighton 2-2 Tottenham
  • Tottenham 1-0 Villarreal
  • West Ham 0-3 Tottenham

Player to watch: Wout Weghorst

Wout Weghorst continues to be a useful option for Ajax, and he should be in line for a start on Tuesday. The former Burnley striker scored 11 goals for Ajax last season, and a similar return this season would be a job well done for a man brought in to provide cover.
