Manchester United face a daunting task against the formidable Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Women's Champions League quarter-final clash at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
Indeed, the visitors have proven themselves as tough opponents in the competition so far this season, finishing in fourth place in the league phase with four wins out of six (D1, L1).
United also did well though considering it was the first time they have ever competed in the Champions League proper, finishing in sixth also with four wins (L2), and also getting through the play-offs to reach the quarter-finals.

United's debut campaign in the Champions League proper has gone well so far, but after coming through the play-offs, Bayern will provide as tough of a test that they have had over two legs.
Should they end up getting knocked out, they will need to ensure that they qualify for the competition again next season via the Women's Super League.
United could be missing as many as six first-team players.
Currently in second place, they are on course to do just that, but Arsenal in fourth are only three points behind them with crucially two games in hand.
United also recently missed out on silverware in the League Cup final to Chelsea, and it is unlikely that they will be able to lift their first Champions League trophy given the level of more established teams left in the competition.
