Andre Onana has been loaned this season by Manchester United to Trabzonspor. The Turkish club have already made their decision about the Cameroonian goalkeeper's future.

At the very end of the summer transfer window, on 11th September, Manchester United announced the loan departure of Andre Onana to Trabzonspor. The Cameroonian goalkeeper was coming off two difficult seasons as a starter in the Red Devils' goal and had been pushed towards the exit since the start of summer.

The English side had not managed to find a landing spot for the 29-year-old player in the summer and therefore agreed this loan without a purchase option in Turkey. For the moment, the former Inter Milan player is enjoying a good start to his adventure with four matches to his name for 5 goals conceded, one clean sheet and even one assist.

Trabzonspor want to sign Andre Onana permanently

Andre Onana thus seems set to establish himself all season as the starter in Trabzonspor's goal. Or even longer? According to information from the Sun, the Turkish club have already contacted the Cameroonian goalkeeper's entourage to express their wish to sign him permanently at the end of his loan.

The British media add that the Super Lig side have also planned to discuss it with Manchester United before the end of the season. As indicated previously, the loan was completed without a purchase option, so the two clubs will have to discuss again and find an agreement for a permanent transfer.

Manchester United bought Andre Onana for £42.9m

Andre Onana has, in any case, already been adopted by Trabzonspor, where his performances and leadership are appreciated. The main party also seems at ease in Turkey.

“I can say that I am very happy. I am starting a new project, a new adventure for me, I am very happy to be here. I have never felt so much love from the people around me. It is wonderful to feel at home from the first moment,” the former Manchester player had declared to discuss his beginnings.

It will, however, be necessary to see whether Andre Onana will want to sign permanently at Trabzonspor and whether the deal can be completed from a financial point of view. Manchester United will indeed want to recoup the highest amount possible, after investing £42.9m in the Cameroonian international in 2023. It should be noted that the Nkol Ngok native is today valued at £17.1m by Transfermarkt.
