Amid Manchester United’s ongoing turmoil, Bruno Fernandes had the chance to find a fresh start during the last transfer window. Despite three offers, the Portuguese attacking midfielder chose to reject lucrative contracts to remain with the Red Devils.
According to England’s talkSPORT, Bruno Fernandes received three offers from Saudi Arabian clubs backed by the Public Investment Fund. However, the Manchester United captain decided to trust the club’s rebuilding project under Ruben Amorim.
Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad target Bruno Fernandes
At the start of the European summer, Al-Hilal approached Manchester United with a £100m bid for Bruno Fernandes. The 30-year-old attacking midfielder was offered a contract of equivalent value.
Bruno Fernandes blocked the move, believing he could still contribute to Manchester United in 2025-26, while staying prepared by playing in one of Europe’s top leagues ahead of the World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Despite this, the Saudis renewed their efforts. Al-Nassr made a similar offer, tempting Fernandes with the prospect of playing alongside fellow Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, Jorge Jesus, and Joao Felix. Once again, the midfielder declined.
In the closing days of the English window, Al-Ittihad tried to lure Fernandes. However, Laurent Blanc’s side had already filled their foreign player quota in the Saudi Pro League, meaning someone would need to leave for Manchester United’s star to arrive.
The Saudi transfer window remains open until Wednesday (10), should the clubs attempt a final push for the Portuguese midfielder, who remains firm on staying at Old Trafford.
A leader at Manchester United
Since signing in January 2020, Bruno Fernandes has not only become Manchester United’s technical reference but also a leader within the squad. He renewed his contract last year until June 2027, with the option for an additional season.
Fernandes has regularly faced interest from other clubs, but on the pitch, he has adapted to a deeper role under Amorim, a position further from goal that has drawn some criticism.
With Manchester United yet to secure a top-class addition to link defence and attack, Bruno Fernandes has shouldered that responsibility himself. Even when “sacrificed” by Amorim’s system, the Portuguese star continues to make a difference at the club.
