With the summer transfer window just a few months away, Manchester City have made their decision on the future of a summer signing wanted by four Premier League clubs.

Having arrived at Manchester City during the last summer window, James Trafford did not expect the Sky Blues to pounce on the Gianluigi Donnarumma opportunity a few weeks later and make the Italian their new first choice.

James Trafford wants to regain starting status

As such, the English goalkeeper has had to settle for a backup role this season and has only played 11 matches. This was not in his plans at all and the 23-year-old, who wants to be a starter in the Premier League and become England's number one, is already thinking about his future.

James Trafford wants to leave Manchester City next summer and 4 Premier League clubs are already interested in his profile: Leeds, Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle. The player's position was clear and was revealed by TeamTalk. However, what was missing in this matter was Manchester City's stance.

Manchester City do not want to sell James Trafford in the next window

Having invested £31m  to bring back their academy goalkeeper last summer, the Sky Blues do not intend to let James Trafford leave permanently after just one season. According to TeamTalk, the English giants would prefer to loan out their goalkeeper next summer rather than sell him, should he wish to get more playing time next season.

Indeed, the English goalkeeper is part of Manchester City's long-term plans. With a contract until June 2030 for the Greysouthen native, the ball is in the Sky Blues' court, and they are only expected to open the door to a Trafford departure in the form of a straight loan. It remains to be seen whether the 4 English clubs mentioned above or other suitors will be interested in this formula during the next transfer window.
