Everton‘s management have decided to position themselves for another Manchester City player lacking playing time and announced on the departure list at every transfer window.

No longer in Manchester City‘s plans, Jack Grealish found himself a new landing spot during the last summer transfer window. The English left winger joined Everton in the form of a twelve-month loan without a purchase option. Blocked at the Citizens, the former Aston Villa player is finding his colours again with the Toffees, in terms of playing time (9 matches) as well as contribution to his new team's performances (1 goal, 4 assists).

If this deal satisfies all parties, Manchester City did not manage to part with all their undesirables during the off-season. And it is evidently Everton again who want to relieve Pep Guardiola. If one believes information from Football Insider, the Merseyside club are now considering an arrival of Kalvin Phillips (29 years old), under contract until June 2028 and with very restricted playing time since the launch of the 2025-26 season.

Manchester City: Kalvin Phillips worth £10m

Pushed towards the exit during the off-season without having managed to find the right fit, the English defensive midfielder has only played one match since the end of the summer transfer window, only seven minutes against Huddersfield Town in the Carabao Cup (2-0). Just as absent from the first team in the Premier League and Champions League, Kalvin Phillips is already impatiently waiting for January 2026 to have a change of scenery.

Everton could secure Kalvin Phillips' services through a six-month loan. Recruited by Manchester City in summer 2022 for the sum of £42.2m, the Leeds native is worth much less today as evidenced by a market value set at £10m by Transfermarkt, in free fall for several months.
