Manchester City, having already confirmed the exit of Ederson this summer, may be set to sanction another departure in goal before the transfer window closes.
Although all deals were completed on Monday evening ahead of the official closure of the summer window in Europe’s top five leagues, Manchester City only announced the signing of Gianluigi Donnarumma on Tuesday morning. The Italian goalkeeper joined the club in a deal reported to be worth £30.5 million, signing a contract running until 2030.
His reported salary is £11.2 million per year, roughly equivalent to his wage at Paris Saint-Germain, which the French club had been looking to reduce in order to extend his contract. Donnarumma will now settle in Manchester as City’s new first-choice goalkeeper.

Stefan Ortega being courted by Trabzonspor
This arrival has prompted further movement, following the official departure of Ederson to Fenerbahçe for just under £13 million. However, this may not be the end of City’s goalkeeper reshuffle. The Sky Blues currently have four goalkeepers in their senior squad.
James Trafford joined the club this summer for £27 million, Stefan Ortega remains at the club, while Marcus Bettinelli arrived from Chelsea for £2.1 million. Another departure is therefore possible, particularly with the transfer window still open in certain countries, including Turkey.
According to Florian Plettenberg, Trabzonspor are currently exploring the possibility of signing Stefan Ortega. The German goalkeeper, who has been competing with Ederson over recent seasons, is considering a move to the Turkish club. At this stage, Trabzonspor have not yet made an offer for the 32-year-old, who is valued at £6.8 million by Transfermarkt.
