Omar Marmoush wants to leave Manchester City during this January transfer window but wishes to remain in the Premier League. Two English clubs are in pole position to sign him.
Having arrived at Manchester City in January 2025 for £63.6m (€75m), Omar Marmoush has failed to find his place within the Sky Blues' bloated squad. The Egyptian forward is enduring a difficult first half of the season. He has scored just 2 goals and provided one assist in 17 appearances, only 3 of which came as a starter.
As such, a departure is on the agenda as early as this January window for the 26-year-old. According to Caught Offside, Omar Marmoush is even pushing to leave the English giants this month in order to get more playing time. The player's priority would be to remain in the Premier League.
Aston Villa and Tottenham in pole position to sign Marmoush
This appears to rule out a move to Turkey, where Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are closely monitoring the situation. Sources had mentioned a potential £25.4m (€30m) offer from Fenerbahce and a loan proposal from Galatasaray. In England, two suitors stand out to welcome Omar Marmoush: Aston Villa and Tottenham.

According to the British outlet, the Villans would like to sign the Manchester forward on loan. Unai Emery sees the Egyptian as the perfect complement for his attacking department given his ability to play in all forward positions. For their part, Spurs remain interested and are looking for a forward capable of stretching defences and pressing opponents.
Guardiola opens door to Marmoush departure
Tottenham are currently assessing the situation and preparing their move. A loan with an option to buy could notably be proposed by the London club. The latter are set to lose Randal Kolo Muani this winter or next summer, with Juventus attempting to sign the Frenchman.
It should be noted that Pep Guardiola has given his approval for Omar Marmoush's departure. The Spanish coach, who signed Antoine Semenyo this winter, cannot guarantee him regular playing time during the second half of the season. It remains to be seen whether City will be willing to sell or loan their forward to an English rival, particularly to Aston Villa (3rd in the Premier League).
