Struggling at Manchester City, Abdukodir Khusanov is being targeted by two Premier League clubs during this January transfer window.
Signed almost exactly a year ago by Manchester City for a fee of €40m (£35.1m), Abdukodir Khusanov has since played just around 20 matches for the English club. This season, the Uzbek centre-back was hampered by an ankle injury before racking up appearances on the substitutes' bench. Behind Nathan Ake, Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol in the pecking order, the former RC Lens player has started just four times in the Premier League.
Starting yesterday and impressing in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Newcastle (2-0) at St James' Park, the 21-year-old prospect has had far too few opportunities to prove himself in the Citizens' big matches. To the point where questions are already being asked about his departure during this January window? Two Premier League clubs have positioned themselves for the Tashkent native, who is under contract until June 2029: Everton and Bournemouth.

Bournemouth considering Khusanov loan from Manchester City
According to Sports Boom, the Toffees, coached by David Moyes, are considering a permanent transfer for Abdukodir Khusanov. Having already secured the loan of English midfielder Jack Grealish in summer 2025, who is still under contract until June 2027 with Manchester City, the Merseyside club are now eyeing the former Ligue 1 player to cover for a possible departure of Jarrad Branthwaite. The Cherries, however, have another plan in mind.
Stripped of talent at every window, as illustrated again this winter by the sale of Ghanaian winger Antoine Semenyo… to Manchester City for €75m (£65.9m) including bonuses, Bournemouth are this time considering a deal in the opposite direction. Andoni Iraola's side are thinking about a loan for Abdukodir Khusanov. Two proposals on which the English hierarchy have taken a stance. According to the same source, Manchester City have no intention of parting ways with their number 45.
His impressive performance against the Magpies is an argument in favour of keeping him in the Manchester squad. Not spared by injury problems in central defence, Pep Guardiola will probably not give the green light to an Abdukodir Khusanov departure in the coming days.
