A young Premier League midfielder who is being compared to James Milner is on the radar of Arsenal and Manchester City.

At just 20 years old, Jack Hinshelwood is already in his third Premier League season with Brighton. The English midfielder enjoyed a fine campaign last season with 26 league appearances, contributing 5 goals and 3 assists. Impressive statistics for a number 6 who can also play at right-back and left-back.

This season, the England U21 international has already made 19 appearances across all competitions, primarily in a defensive midfield role. Performances and potential that are starting to attract interest from England's biggest clubs.

Indeed, according to Caught Offside, Manchester City and Arsenal are closely monitoring the young Seagulls star. The British outlet describes him as an intelligent and technically solid player who “combines mobility with sufficient physical presence to meet the demands of the Premier League.” His profile is thus compared by observers to James Milner, who enjoyed his best years at Liverpool and currently plays for Brighton.

Liverpool and Chelsea lurking

Like Hinshelwood, Milner can also play across the entire midfield and fill in at right-back. The same source reports that the Gunners and the Sky Blues are leading the race for the young English midfielder, while Liverpool and Chelsea view him as an interesting long-term investment.

With the Brighton academy product's contract expiring in June 2028, the English club will be in a position of strength in this case in the next window. As such, the Seagulls would demand between £38.1m (€45m) and £46.6m (€55m) for their midfielder. A significant sum for a player valued at £18.6m (€22m), but fairly logical given his age and potential.
