Manchester City have reached a personal agreement with Gianluigi Donnarumma, but the Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper’s departure is not yet finalised.
The Italian international has been sidelined at PSG following the arrival of Lucas Chevalier, who immediately claimed the number one spot after joining earlier this summer. With Donnarumma now out of the picture and the 2026 World Cup on the horizon, a move away from the French capital looks increasingly likely.
The 25-year-old even bid farewell to the Parc des Princes crowd, believing he had played his final match for the club. However, a deal has yet to be completed.

City want Donnarumma – but hurdles remain
According to Fabrizio Romano, City have secured personal terms with Donnarumma, marking a key step forward in the potential transfer. However, negotiations with PSG are ongoing, as the Premier League champions hope to agree a fee below €50m (£42.5m).
A further complication is the future of Ederson, who has been strongly linked with Galatasaray but remains a City player for now. Only once that situation is resolved can Donnarumma’s move to the Etihad progress.
