Out of contract at Manchester City, Bernardo Silva is attracting strong interest from Juventus, who have already moved to sign the Portuguese star as a free agent in the next transfer window.
Silva is one to watch closely over the coming weeks. The Manchester City stalwart is out of contract and appears set to leave the club for nothing this summer. At the start of March, three destinations were leading the race for the Portuguese international: Benfica, Barcelona and the Saudi Pro League.
However, another suitor has now stepped forward. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are actively attempting to sign the Portuguese attacking midfielder or winger. Unable to compete financially with Europe's wealthiest clubs or the Saudi Pro League, the Bianconeri have made an early move to get ahead of the competition.
Juventus table an attractive offer
They are banking on three key selling points to win over the Manchester City captain: the appeal of the Old Lady, the ambition of launching a new cycle of success, and an attractive contract reflecting his importance to the squad. In figures, that is expected to translate into wages in excess of £6-7m per year — a salary that would place him in the top three earners at the club according to Capology.

According to the Italian outlet, Juventus have made it clear to agent Jorge Mendes that they are “ready for almost anything” in this pursuit. The Italian giants are even prepared to make an exception for the 31-year-old by offering a long-term deal — something they do not typically extend to players over 30.
Gazzetta reports that Juventus have presented Silva with a three-year contract with an option for a further season — a significant step forward in negotiations, though not necessarily a decisive one. The player has appreciated the gesture and the efforts made by the Turin club, but has not yet made a decision on his future.
Juventus facing Barcelona competition for Silva
What is clear is that the former Monaco man wants to leave Manchester City and is “seeking one last prestigious adventure.” Juventus are well placed in the race but must fend off serious competition from Barcelona, but also Benfica, Galatasaray, Saudi clubs and MLS sides.
The Portuguese international intends to take his time before signing what could be his last major contract, and “has made it clear to all suitors that he will probably not make a decision before the end of April,” according to Gazzetta. Luciano Spalletti is keeping his fingers crossed for a positive response and can count on Francisco Conceicao's support in attempting to persuade his compatriot.
