Malmo vs Galatasaray prediction: Can Gala remain unbeaten?

  • Malmo have not kept a clean sheet in 17 matches.
  • Galatasaray have not kept a clean sheet in the Europa League this season.
  • Galatasaray have scored more than treble Malmo's Europa League tally this season.

Correct score prediction: Malmo 1-3 Galatasaray

We think Galatasaray will claim another three precious points in this one. Malmo, desperate to reach the playoffs will put up stiff resistance, but will ultimately be broken by their unbeaten visitors.

Galatasaray have conceded in all their European adventures this season, but we think they'll blow the Swedes away with their firepower.

Malmo preview: Strong record vs Turkish sides

Malmo are certainly the underdogs coming into this one, despite being the hosts. However, one place the Swedish champions can draw confidence from is their record against Turkish opponents.

They have won six of their nine meetings with Turkish teams, drawing once and losing twice.

However, supporters will be concerned by a six-man injury crisis, including veteran defenders Pontus Jansson and Niklas Moisander.

Predicted lineup: Friedrich (GK), Larsen, Rosler, Zetterstrom, Busallena, Pena, Johnsen, Rosengren, Christiansen, Bolin, Botheim

Galatasaray preview: An invincible league phase?

Galatasaray's star-studded side has taken the Europa League by storm this season. The Turkish champions are unbeaten, and are the competition's top scorers with 13.

They will be hoping to go some way to improving their record against Swedish sides, having only won 25 % of their previous encounters.

And in their current form, it is hard to see them failing to do so, even though they'll miss their two key offensive players Mauro Icardi and Victor Osimhen.

Predicted lineup: Muslera (GK), Sanchez, Baltaci, Bardakci, Kutlu, Torreira, Sara, Akgun, Ziyech, Mertens & Batshuayi

Player to watch: Michy Batshuayi

With both Icardi and Osimhen out with injuries, Batshuayi will earn his second start in the Europa League and he'll be looking for his first goal in the competition this season.

The Belgian forward has been doing a solid job of the bench this season in the Super Lig, where he scored four goals despite only starting in two games. So, Galatasaray fans will be hoping he can repeat this in the Europa League on Thursday.
