🔥 Our Hot tip

Man Utd or draw

Man Utd have avoided defeat in four of their last five matches against Liverpool.

Liverpool will take on Man Utd on Sunday, 19 October, in what is widely regarded as the biggest fixture in English football.

The two clubs are the two most successful in English football history, and Liverpool are gunning for a record-breaking 21st league title this season, to reclaim their infamous ‘perch'.

For Man Utd, the long rebuild back to past glories continues, and Ruben Amorim could do with a win on Merseyside to get the club's fans back onside.

As part of this week's round of Premier League betting tips, check out our Liverpool vs Man Utd prediction below.

Liverpool vs Man Utd prediction: Amorim's men to take something from Anfield

Key Stats

  • Liverpool have lost three consecutive matches in all competitions.
  • Man Utd have scored two or more goals in four of their last six matches in all competitions.
  • The corresponding fixture at Anfield last season finished 2-2.

Correct score prediction: Liverpool 2-2 Man Utd

Last season, Man Utd were the better team in the match between these two sides at Anfield, and they would have left disappointed with a 2-2 draw. For all of the faults with Amorim's system, it was effective against Slot's Liverpool last season and considering the hosts are in bad form coming into the match, there is certainly an opportunity here for the Red Devils.

Liverpool preview: Fitness boosts for Slot

Arne Slot has revealed in his pre-match press conference that Ryan Gravenberch and Ibrahima Konate are both fit to start the match on Sunday, which is a huge boost to their chances. The only real negative for Liverpool is that Alisson is still out with a hamstring problem.

Predicted lineup: Mamardashvili (GK), Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Gravenberch, Jones – Salah, Wirtz, Gakpo –  Isak

Last five results

  • Chelsea 2-1 Liverpool
  • Galatasaray 1-0 Liverpool
  • Crystal Palace 2-1 Liverpool
  • Liverpool 2-1 Southampton
  • Liverpool 2-1 Everton

Man Utd preview: A decision to be made on Cunha

Ruben Amorim has a dilemma when it comes to his front three, with Mason Mount seemingly in favour after his performance against Sunderland before the international break. That could mean that £60m man Matheus Cunha has to settle for a place on the bench at Anfield. Lisandro Martinez is ruled out, while Noussair Mazraoui and Ayden Heaven are doubts.

Predicted lineup: Lammens (GK), Yoro, De Ligt, Shaw, Amad, Ugarte, Fernandes, Dalot, Mount, Mbeumo, Sesko

Last five results

  • Man Utd 2-0 Sunderland
  • Brentford 3-1 Man Utd
  • Man Utd 2-1 Chelsea
  • Man City 3-0 Man Utd
  • Man Utd 3-2 Burnley

Player to watch: Mo Salah

Mo Salah has had a sluggish start to the new season for Liverpool, but he should be relishing the opportunity to play against Man Utd this week. No player in history has contributed more goals and assists (19) than the Egyptian, and you would be foolish to bet against him finding the back of the net on Sunday.
