Liverpool to win and BTTS

Liverpool have kept just two clean sheets this season.

Liverpool will be hoping to maintain their perfect start to the 2025/26 campaign in the Premier League when they welcome fellow local rivals Everton to Anfield in the Merseyside derby at Saturday lunchtime. Indeed, the Reds have won all four of their league matches so far to tighten their grip at the top of the table.

Meanwhile, the Toffees have not had a bad start themselves, picking up a total of seven points from their opening four league matches, which places them in a respectable sixth spot at the time of writing. Nonetheless, they will be determined to try and cause an upset here.

Liverpool vs Everton prediction: Reds to stretch ruthless run?

Key stats

  • Liverpool have won five games in a row in total in all competitions.
  • Everton have conceded just three goals in the Premier League so far this season.
  • Liverpool have lost just once in eight previous H2Hs.

Correct score prediction: Liverpool 2-1 Everton

Given that Liverpool have had a habit of scoring late goals to edge out wins this season, we are backing them to do so again against their bitter rivals. Everton are in decent form themselves though, and so we are also expecting them to cause the Reds plenty of problems at Anfield.

Pre-game odds and win probability: Liverpool unsurprising favourites with bookmakers

  • HOME: 4/9 (1.44) – 69.2%
  • DRAW: 16/5 (4.20) – 23.8%
  • AWAY: 19/4 (5.75) – 17.4%

*odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change

As shown by the implied probabilities, Liverpool are unsurprisingly the favourites with bookmakers to claim all three points on home soil. A draw can be backed at just under 24%, while an Everton victory away from home is deemed unlikely at just over 17%.

Most recent H2Hs: Everton to be encouraged?

Everton should take some form of encouragement from the most recent H2Hs, having won one and drawn one of their previous three meetings with Liverpool in total. However, the Toffees have lost on each of their last four visits to Anfield, which does not bode well for them in terms of trying to grind out a positive result.

Liverpool preview: Isak to start again?

Alexander Isak made his first appearance in Liverpool colours as they beat Atletico Madrid 3-2 at Anfield in the opening match of their UEFA Champions League (UCL) campaign in midweek, and so could start again against Everton. Curtis Jones remains the Reds' only injury absentee.

Predicted lineup: Alisson (GK); Frimpong, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Wirtz, Gakpo & Isak

Last five results:

  • Liverpool 3-2 Atletico Madrid
  • Burnley 0-1 Liverpool
  • Liverpool 1-0 Arsenal
  • Newcastle 2-3 Liverpool
  • Liverpool 4-2 Bournemouth

Everton preview: Defensive injuries still remain

Everton will again likely be without both Jarrad Branthwaite and Vitaliy Mykolenko in their backline due to injury. The Toffees have no fresh injury concerns to report.

Predicted lineup: Pickford (GK); O'Brien, Tarkowski, Keane, Garner; Gueye, Iroegbunam; Ndiaye, Dewsbury-Hall, Grealish & Beto

Last five results:

  • Everton 0-0 Aston Villa
  • Wolves 2-3 Everton
  • Everton 2-0 Mansfield
  • Everton 2-0 Brighton
  • Leeds 1-0 Everton

Player to watch: Alexander Isak

After playing his first minutes for Liverpool from the start in midweek, Arne Slot may be tempted to keep Alexander Isak in his starting XI against Everton. The British record signing will be desperate to get off the mark for the Reds, especially against their Merseyside rivals.
