Braga vs Levski Sofia predictions: A low-scoring affair

Key stats

  • Fewer than three goals were scored in five of Braga’s last seven matches.
  • The first leg of this tie ended goalless.
  • Levski Sofia have no losses in their last 16 matches across all competitions.

Correct score prediction: Braga 2-0 Levski Sofia

Levski Sofia have not fared particularly well in previous qualifying rounds, as they have not qualified for a European competition in 15 years. In contrast, Braga are Europa League regulars, having reached the main event of this competition in nine of the last 10 seasons.

Although Braga settled for a draw in the first leg, they should find it easier to win at home.

Sporting Braga preview: A clean bill of health

Last week's goalless encounter with Levski Sofia marked Sporting Braga’s first competitive match of the season, as they were waived from participating in the first qualification round due to their UEFA coefficient.

The Warriors of Minho narrowly missed out on a place in the Europa League playoffs last season after falling short on goal difference during the league phase. The 2025-26 campaign offers a new path toward the club's dreams of reaching the final of this competition for the first time since the 2010-11 season.

There are no injury worries for Braga going into this game, giving coach Carlos Vicens the opportunity to deploy his best lineup for this contest.

Predicted lineup: Hornicek (GK), Arrey-Mbi, Oliveira, Carvalho, Lagerbielk, Dorgeles, Gorby, Moutinho, Horta, Zalazar & Navarro.

Levski Sofia preview: Looking to extend their impressive unbeaten run

Levski Sofia are yet to taste defeat since the second week of April, going unbeaten in their last 16 games. While they have been great in the past months, their resilience will be put to a great test away at Braga this week.

Coach Julio Velazquez reverted to his usual 4-2-3-1 formation last weekend as his side defeated Septemvri 2-1 on the road. The Spaniard had deployed a 4-2-1-3 setup during the first encounter with Braga, which hindered his team's ability to create from the middle and control the tempo of the game. He is expected to use a double pivot, with three ball-carrying midfielders playing just behind the lone striker, with qualification at stake.

The Blues finished Saturday's league game with no fresh injury. This means Velazquez will be pleased to have a healthy group from which to choose his strongest XI.

Predicted lineup: Vutsov (GK), Aldair, Dimitrov, Makoun, Santos, Trdin, Kostadinov, Rildo, Petkov, Sangare & Kirilov.
