🔥 Our Hot tip

Leeds to score over 1.5 goals

Leeds have scored two or more goals in four of their previous five matches.

Friday night entertainment in the Premier League comes from Elland Road as Leeds United look to take a huge step towards survival when they host already-relegated Burnley.

Both sides arrived in the Premier League together last season, but their campaigns have since gone in completely opposite directions.

While the Whites managed to reach the 40-point mark and also appeared in the FA Cup semi-final, the Clarets have already secured their ticket to the Championship.

Leeds United’s pursuit of FA Cup glory came to a disappointing end over the weekend as the Whites endured a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea at Wembley Stadium.

Sunday’s loss not only denied Leeds a spot in their first FA Cup final since 1973, but it also ended their seven-match unbeaten run across all competitions.

Daniel Farke and his men will now shift their priorities back onto Premier League duties, with the club still facing uncertainty despite already reaching the 40-point mark.

🔍 Whispers Insight

Just one of Leeds United’s previous eight matches at Elland Road saw both teams score.

No team in the competition has been relegated when crossing that magic number since West Ham in 2003, though given how tight the race for survival currently is, Leeds will be looking for one or two more wins.

Confidence will be high for the visitors considering their last three Premier League outings consist of a win at Old Trafford, a 3-0 demolition of Wolverhampton, and a thrilling 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.

In terms of injuries, Leeds will be without Ilia Gruev who recently suffered a meniscus injury, while Gabi Gudmundsson is a doubt after struggling with his hamstring at Wembley.

In better news for the Whites, Anton Stach is expected to return to Premier League action after managing 45 minutes in the FA Cup semi-final last Sunday.

Burnley are in far worse shape when it comes to injuries, with Josh Cullen, Jordan Beyer, and former Leeds man Connor Roberts all ruled out.

To make matters worse for Scott Parker, there are also doubts surrounding Zeki Amdouni, Hannibal Mejbri and Axel Tuanzebe.

🔍 Whispers Insight

Burnley have conceded both the most first half away goals and second half away goals in the Premier League.

A long list of injuries is not the only thing on Parker’s mind, who is already pondering his future following Burnley’s relegation from the Premier League.

Reports in the media suggest that the club’s hierarchy are already having discussions about the managerial position, with the likes of Steven Gerrard and Craig Bellamy linked with the role.

Burnley are not expected to make their decision before the end of the season, which does give Parker an opportunity to at least finish the campaign on a positive note.

The club’s current four-match win tally marks their worst league campaign since 1889-90, while their ongoing nine-match winless run is unlikely to offer much confidence.

The only positive for the Clarets is the fact they have already beaten Leeds earlier this season, picking up a 2-0 victory at Turf Moor back in October.

Burnley have only lost one of their last five matches with Leeds, and a win over the Whites would take them six points clear of Premier League’s bottom club, Wolves.

Whispers predicts: Leeds United 2-0 Burnley

Having scored two or more goals in four of their previous five games, Leeds certainly deserve consideration in the goals market.

The Whites are available at 1/2 to score over 1.5 goals at Elland Road, and that is a decent bet given Burnley’s poor defensive record on the road - a record that consists of nine goals conceded in their last three away outings.

We don’t expect both teams to get on the scoresheet on Friday night, and that bet is available at around the 4/5 mark. Interestingly, this bet has landed in three previous meetings.

If you are looking for something a little more ambitious, you could back Leeds to win the match 2-0 in the correct score market, which is available at around 6/1.

📈 Whispers' Tips

> Leeds United over 1.5 goals at 1/2 | Likelihood: Probable

> Both teams to score - No at 4/5 | Likelihood: Probable

> Correct Score: Leeds United 2-1 Burnley at 6/1 | Likelihood: Outsider
