Eusebio Di Francesco’s Lecce got off to a 2-0 win over Venezia in the first match of their league season but have slumped to three defeats in four since then.

Most recently, AC Milan shipped three past the Wolves at San Siro, with the defeat marking their sixth consecutive H2H defeat in the Italian top flight.

They will be glad to return on home turf, where they dispatched Monza 3-2 last time out, although AS Roma’s 4-0 win over them here isn’t a far memory.

Medon Berisha is the only absentee for Di Francesco and co. Meanwhile, Bologna miss the services of Emil Holm and Jens Odgaard.

Bologna are off their poorest start to a Serie A season since 2011/12, accumulating only two points from five games so far.

Raffaele Palladino’s first match in-charge of the Rossoblu ended in a 1-1 draw with Torino before the break. However, it is their away form that is cause for concern, having lost 1-0 away at Atalanta and Napoli this season.

They are also one of the three league outfits yet to taste a triumph and have scored a joint league-low three goals so far.

Whispers predicts: Lecce 2-1 Bologna

Considering Bologna’s current form and Lecce’s ability to squeeze results at home, Lecce to win at 10/3 (4.33), according to Bet365, carries significant value. There have been three consecutive H2H draws at this ground, but backing Lecce to break that streak is going against the odds.

Eight of Bologna’s last 11 matches produced under 2.5 goals. But Lecce showed they can take advantage of shaky defences against Monza. Backing Over 2.5 total goals at 11/10 (2.10) is a worthy bet, also given three of Lecce’s five games have crossed the mark.

Both Lecce and Bologna have taken their lead at half-time only once each in the opening five rounds. A draw at half-time at 15/13 (2.15) offers nice returns.
