🔥 Our Hot tip

A red card in the match

Both teams have had 13 red cards combined this season.

After winning the Milan derby, AC Milan are now seven points behind bitter rivals Inter Milan in the Serie A title race as they head to the Stadio Olimpico to face Lazio on Sunday night.

The 1-0 victory has galvanised the Rossoneri to the extent that they believe they can claw back the rest of the deficit with 10 games left to play.

As for Lazio, a 2-1 win at home to Sassuolo last time out saw them break into the top half of the table, but being 13 points off of the European places, perhaps that is as high as they can aim for in league terms.

Lazio are stranded in midtable obscurity at the moment, as they are equidistant from the relegation zone as they are to the European places in terms of points.

They are still in the Coppa Italia, but have it all to do in the second leg of their clash against Atalanta having drawn 2-2 at home in the first leg earlier this month.

🔍 Whispers Insight

Lazio have scored the fewest goals in the top half (28).

Perhaps their concentration will be focused on winning silverware instead, but they will still want to finish as high as possible in the league.

However, Milan are expected to be tough opponents for Lazio, even on home soil, despite them knocking the Rossoneri out in the Coppa Italia at the Stadio Olimpico in December.

Milan would have been disappointed by the 1-0 defeat, as it means the league is their only chance of winning silverware themselves this season.

Indeed, a disastrous 2024/25 campaign saw them fail to qualify for any European football, but at least that has meant full focus has been on Serie A.

🔍 Whispers Insight

Milan have conceded the fewest league goals this season (20).

They are now just seven points behind Inter having beaten them in their last fixture, and another win here could cut the gap further depending on Inter's result.

Milan would love to get one over on their fiercest rivals, and win a first Scudetto title since 2021/22.

Whispers predicts: Lazio 0-2 AC Milan

Milan are the favourites according to bet365, and we are happy to back AC Milan to win at 19/20.

We are not expecting many goals though, with 11 and nine total goals combined respectively in the last five league games involving Lazio and Milan.

Under 2.5 goals at 4/6 therefore also appeals to us, and so the scoreline of 2-0 to Milan would combine both at a much higher price of 15/2.

For our last bet, we would like to explore the cards market, as Adrien Rabiot is suspended for this one off the back of picking up too many yellows.

Lazio are the worst offenders in the league in terms of discipline too, picking up a total of 89 yellow cards and six red cards across the season so far.

Taking all of this into account, we could see A red card in the match at 5/2.
