Marcus Rashford reveals ‘ultimate goal’ amid transfer uncertainty

Marcus Rashford has told Spanish news outlet Sport that his ‘ultimate goal’ is to remain with Barcelona and sign a permanent deal with the La Liga giants.
The 28-year-old Manchester United star is currently plying his trade in Catalonia on a loan deal, and he has been a huge hit after chipping in with seven goals and 11 assists.
As part of the loan deal, Barca have the option to purchase the player for £26m – a much lower figure compared to his £35m valuation by Transfermarkt.
While Hansi Flick’s side could facilitate the cost of the transfer, covering Rashford’s enormous wages is another matter. The England international earns over £300k-a-week, and that could be the main reason for a potential deal to fall through.
AS Roma consider signing Radu Dragusin

Serie A giants AS Roma are determined to strengthen in January, and one of their new targets appears to be Tottenham defender Radu Dragusin.
According to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma are considering signing the 23-year-old Romanian international on loan with an option to buy.
The defender has been on the sidelines since January, nursing a knee injury for almost a full year. Nevertheless, his market value remains at around £18m, while his contract with Spurs ends in the summer of 2030.
Dragusin has lots of Serie A experience having previously played for Genoa and Juventus. Reports suggest he is tempted by the offer from Roma.
Cologne interested in Leeds’ Sebastiaan Bornauw

German news outlet Bild revealed that Bundesliga outfit Cologne are interested in resigning Leeds United’s defender Sebastiaan Bornauw.
The 26-year-old previously played for the Billy Goats between 2019 and 2021 – a period of time which saw his estimated market value jump to around £8m according to Transfermarkt.
That number has since dipped to around £4m after the player enjoyed just two minutes of action in the Premier League this season.
With the Belgian defender desperate for opportunities and Cologne looking to strengthen in January, this could be a match made in heaven.
