Manchester United are exploring another surprise move for Manchester City left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri ahead of the January transfer window.
Reports suggest the Algeria international is open to leaving the Etihad Stadium, with personal terms unlikely to present an obstacle should United pursue a deal.
The 25-year-old has emerged as a potential solution to United's ongoing issues at left-back, a position they failed to strengthen sufficiently during the summer.
Any move could prove complicated, however, with the relationship between the two Manchester clubs regarded as the biggest hurdle to completing a transfer.

Everton are monitoring Minnesota United striker Kelvin Yeboah as they assess potential attacking reinforcements ahead of January.
According to reports, the 25-year-old has attracted interest from a number of Premier League and European clubs after scoring 18 goals in MLS this season.
Yeboah, the nephew of former Leeds United striker Tony Yeboah, is understood to be keen on returning to Europe following spells with Sturm Graz and Genoa.
Everton are expected to be in the market for a forward when the transfer window reopens, with Sunderland and Crystal Palace also credited with an interest.

Arsenal continue to track Atletico Madrid attacker Alex Baena as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his options in the final third.
The Gunners retain a long-standing interest in the Spain international, who has registered nine goal contributions in 14 appearances this season, per new reports.
Baena joined Atletico from Villarreal in a deal worth around £38m and is under contract until 2030, leaving the Spanish club in a strong negotiating position.
A January move appears unlikely, however, with Atletico expected to demand at least £70m and determined to keep the versatile forward as part of Diego Simeone's plans.
