Latest transfer news today: Arsenal join the race for PSG star as Barcelona make Marcus Rashford decision

With Antoine Semenyo's transfer to Manchester City now complete, the rest of the January transfer window feels like a bit of a lottery.

While there are plenty of rumours doing the rounds, there is yet to be anything concrete that suggests we could be in for another blockbuster window. However, with three weeks until the deadline, there is still plenty of time.

Below, we go through the latest transfer rumours, which include an update on Marcus Rashford's future.

Despite sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League and Champions League tables, Arsenal are rumoured to be in the market for more players this winter.

The latest name to be linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium is PSG forward Bradley Barcola. According to a report in teamTALK, Arsenal are preparing a bid for the forward after he rejected a new contract at PSG.

A report in Le Parisien earlier in the week suggested that the player and club are far apart in negotiations, and they failed to come close to reaching an agreement at the end of last year.

Barcola could be just what Arsenal need at the top of the pitch, with the Gunners perhaps lacking in firepower in forward areas. The signing of Viktor Gyokeres hasn't been a success to date, so the Gunners are expected to be in the market for new strikers.

Barcelona to sign Marcus Rashford permanently

Barcelona have reportedly made their decision on the long-term future of Marcus Rashford, and it's a good one as far as the player is concerned.

According to a report from Spanish Journalist Alfredo Martinez, Barcelona now have ‘no doubts' about triggering the €30m buy option for the England winger in the summer, and they are planning to have him in their squad for the foreseeable future.

The decision to sign Rashford from Manchester United on a permanent deal was far from a guarantee. The 28-year-old hasn't had the best of seasons in La Liga, registering just two goals in 16 league appearances.

However, the relatively small fee is at a point where the club clearly feel it is worth the risk, given the levels that Rashford is capable of.

Aston Villa target Conor Gallagher

Aston Villa are said to be pushing to sign Conor Gallagher this month, with Unai Emery desperate to bolster his squad ahead of a potentially huge five months for the Villains.

According to a report by TalkSPORT, Villa are looking to bring the Atletico Madrid midfielder in on an original loan deal, with a view to making it permanent in the summer.

The buy option for Villa would reportedly stand at around £35m, something that they would be more than willing to pay if Gallagher can help them return to the Champions League.

After a strong start in Spain, Gallagher has since fallen down the pecking order under Diego Simeone, and he is said to be keen for a Premier League return to boost his England hopes.
