The countdown is on until the start of the January window, and things are beginning to seriously heat up. Here, we take a closer look at some of the latest transfer news today.

One of the biggest stories of the day comes from the Emirates Stadium as one of Arsenal’s top recent goalscorers is linked with a Serie A giant.

Elsewhere, AS Roma are looking at Tottenham’s £26m forward as a potential way of strengthening their attack for the second half of the season.

Here are the biggest headlines of the day…

Sunderland’s exceptional start to the Premier League season has not gone unnoticed, with both Manchester United and Chelsea setting their sights on one of the Black Cats’ shining young stars, Noah Sadiki.

According to transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri, both United and Chelsea enquired about the Belgian midfielder, though both were seemingly turned away by Sunderland.

The Black Cats signed Sadiki during last summer’s transfer window for just under £15m, and latest reports by TEAMtalk indicate that the club and the player himself are not ready to do business with other clubs.

The Belgian midfielder has played in all 15 Premier League matches for Sunderland this season, boosting his estimated transfer value on Transfermarkt to around £22m.

Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus appears on AC Milan’s wishlist

AC Milan are determined to strengthen their forward line this January and they have outlined two potential targets – one of those being Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus.

According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato, the Serie A outfit want to capitalise on Jesus’ desire to play more first team football ahead of next summer’s World Cup in North America.

The Brazilian recently recovered from his knee injury around three weeks ago, though he has since played for a combined time of 39 competitive minutes – a trend which is unlikely to earn him a World Cup spot should it continue.

AC Milan are clearly interested in the player, though the big sticking point comes in the financial department, with the Serie A giants unable to meet Jesus’ £6m annual salary.

Serie A outfit AS Roma have outlined Tottenham striker Mathys Tel as one of their potential January transfer targets as they look to strengthen their attacking options for the second half of the season.

Italian outlet Calciomercato believe the 20-year-old would make for a suitable alternative to their main winter target, Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee.

The Red Devils are reportedly looking to keep the striker at Old Trafford until next summer, meaning Roma are actively looking for other options in the market – this includes Tel, who is valued at around £26m by Transfermarkt.

Roma have not made a formal approach for the Tottenham man, but the Italian side are understood to be testing the waters ahead of the start of the January window.
