Alaves: Barca to replace Suarez with Alaves striker?

At the beginning of the year, elite teams' pursuit of Lucas Perez evident, and it has gossiped that he is for sure, leaving the club. He had attracted the attention of fellow La Liga colossus Barcelona. With the rumored departure of Ousmane Dembele and the already finished transfer of Luis Suarez, the Catalans wanted to bolster their attacking formations.

Lucas Perez messed their plans up as he exclaimed that he remains loyal to the club that he is already a part of. He acknowledged that a move to Barcelona would be an excellent opportunity for him, and also, it would be the biggest club he has ever played for. Still, Perez feared becoming a substitution in Camp Nou. He preferred the option to be Alaves' main man and continue scoring with their kit.

Alaves wants one of Koeman's men.

Another name linked with both clubs was the Catalans’  product Oriol Busquets. The 21-year-old has spent 13 years already with Barca, who might be thinking of him becoming an integral part of the future squad. They do not want to part ways with the midfielder. He spent his last season on loan with Twente, where he got 20 appearances.

Reports suggested a significant interest in the prospect from numerous La Liga sides, with Alaves leading the race. In the end, though, he remains at Camp Nou for now. But unless Koeman plans on giving him the opportunity to play, he may not last long in Barcelona.

Atletic Bilbao: Dealing with scarce transfer options

Bilbao has a huge task on their hands in the near future – winning the Copa del Rey final versus Real Sociedad. They would’ve been glad to have attracted reinforcements for this match, but that's easier said than done. Bilbao has limited transfer options due to their unwritten rule, which declares that only players who were born in the Basque Country or have played in another Basque team can join the club. This leaves almost all big stars out of the picture. We shouldn't worry, though, as Athletic has shown us that they are doing just fine in the Spanish top flight.

An opportunity might be arising.

However rare is for Bilbao to acquire a well-known player is, it seems that they might be on track to signing Javi Martinez. He is a name that will most certainly be in great advantage of the Basque squad.

Martinez played for the club during the 2006-2012 period and joined Bayern Munich afterwards. After spending eight years with the German colossus and winning the Bundesliga in all eight seasons, it seems like the 32-year-old is looking towards slowing down the pace and returning to his former club.

The Munich man is no stranger to Bilbao's fans, and they would be glad to see him wearing their kit once again. He was heavy rumored to be completing the move this summer but has stayed in Bayern. His contract is due to expire in 2021, so it's ok to say that the transfer is imminent.

Atletico Madrid: Some of the latest gossip surrounds their wonderkid Joao Felix.

The youngster impressed everyone with the arsenal of skills that he has under his disposal, being just 20-years-old, and this immediately shows up through the bids made for him. It's been rumored that another Spanish grant is keen on getting a hold of Felix's services, and that is Barcelona. The Catalans have offered the Madrid side a swap deal, which would see the two teams trading Joao Felix for Antoine Griezmann. Barca bought Griezmann from Atletico last season and are already looking to replace the Frenchman.

Griezmann underperformed at Camp Nou, scoring an average of 0.23 goals per game compared to the 0.52 goals per game he managed while he was in Atletico. Also, his wage is a heavy load for the Catalans, who regret offering him a yearly salary of €21 Million. However, such a  transfer is highly unlikely considering that the Atleti offloaded the France international just last year.

Interest from Scotland

Rodrigo Riquelme – a talented product of Atletico Madrid's very own youth academy, has reached a point in his career when it's time to decide whether he continues to grow with the Spaniards or he tries his luck somewhere else. The rumor has it that Scottish rivals Celtic and Rangers both have an interest in getting to the youngster's signature. The battle is fierce because if a side loses the race to the other, they will have to face him regularly.

Barcelona: Umtiti posed to make a Ligue 1 return.

Suffering numerous injuries, the role of Samuel Umtiti as the main defender is no longer a consistent option. Barca bought the 26-year-old defender from Ligue 1 team, Olympique Lyon, for €25 Million, and is reported that OL now wants to get him back in the squad.

Barcelona may as well agree to such an offer because Ronald Koeman has targeted Lyon's star Memphis Depay, and under these circumstances, the two sides may agree on some sort of a swap deal.

Looking to get their ex-players back

Barcelona was close to signing Manchester City's Eric Garcia. Oddly enough, the 19-year-old has already spent nine years in Barcelona's structures but was sold to City's youth team in 2018. Barca's board is probably regretting this move as they now find themselves in a position where they would like Garcia to play for them. The gossip is that a €10 Million bid for him has already been turned down, with the Citizens not accepting anything less than €18 Million. Pep Guardiola paid the shy €1.5 for Garcia, and City is now on the verge of making a massive profit from him.

It seems like Barcelona's specialty is to offload talent that they later regret doing. This is also the case with Wolverhampton's Adama Traore. This time we can't blame Barca as Traore didn't look as promising under them as he looks now. The Malian winger has gone a long way and developed nicely and is also linked with a move to his former club. Wolves bought him for the price of €10 Million, and he's now valued at around €35 Million.

Cadiz: A veteran joining?

Their transfer strategy seems a bit weird as we saw them offload a total of 11 players without bringing in a single euro. That's right, Cadiz agreed to release 4 of its men on free transfers and loaned out another seven footballers. They may find themselves in a bad financial position with a 0 income and nearly €10 Million spent on new signings. If Cadiz is to get relegated in the current campaign, the club will be in a dire financial state.

Despite all of this, the Spanish side is linked with a big-name coming in. The former Manchester City and Barcelona man Yaya Toure is looking to play a season or two more before hanging the boots. At 37 years old, he got released from the Chinese club Qingdao Huanghai and expressed his desire for more playtime before becoming a coach. He is poised with a return to La Liga, and he held discussions with Cadiz's board during the transfer window, but an agreement wasn't reached. The race is on, and Cadiz is one of the biggest competitors for the Ivorian's signature.

Selling a player to stabilize the financial position of the club.

This is David Mayoral’s current situation. He joined Cadiz on a free transfer from Murcia and was instantly loaned out to Romanian's Hermannstadt. The 23-year-old winger is yet to shine, but he can bring in some financial positives for the La Liga side. It's rumored that he will most likely be sent on another loan in the next campaign with the hopes of him amassing value, which will later be capitalized.

Celta Vigo: Bidding for Eredivise keeper

Celta Vigo is a team that’s looking to get back to its prime years. They had a hard time getting clean sheets last season. This fact alone will surely lead them in the pursuit of a new goalie. The Spanish side has been linked with AZ Alkmaar's main man Marco Bizot. During the unfinished season in the Eredivise, he conceded just ten goals in 24 games and managed the impressive 17 clean sheets. He is a player that Celta would love to have in their squad.

Bizot has been targeted by other La Liga sides with the likes of Sevilla and Valencia. It seems he's happy with his position in AZ as he recently extended his contract with the team to mid-2022. Celta Vigo surely needs to make a decent bid if they would want to beat the others to his signature.

Looking to sign Inter’s flop

Another addition to Celta's squad may be the Nerazzurri’s outsider João Mário. The Italian team is disappointed by their €40 Million transfer that turned out to be a flop. They bought Mário in 2016, and after he didn't impress, he's been loaned to different teams. With the years passing, His price has subsided three times as he is now valued at around €13 Million.

Celta Vigo may be looking to strike a loan deal with João Mário but, it's possible that Inter wants to see him permanently leave the club. The Spanish side is definitely keeping tabs on him and won't hesitate to snatch him up if there is such an opportunity.

Eibar: Finally securing a striker

The summer transfer window was relatively quiet for the team, but they managed to acquire their long-term target Yoshinori Muto's signature.

Reportedly Muto wanted to leave Newcastle during the 2020 January window, but the Magpies didn't agree to sell the Japanese forward. Eibar repeatedly expressed their desire to sign the striker during the summer, and this time both sides reached an agreement. The difference was that Eibar didn't bid a transfer but a yearlong loan.

Newcastle might have plans for the Japanese's future, who has only made 28 appearances for the Premier League side since joining in 2018. It's entirely possible that the La Liga squad is keen to pursuit Muto's permanent transfer to their team, so a deal at the end of the season may see the light.

Bidding for Watford’s defender

Another English team's player has been linked with Eibar, and that is the recently relegated Watford's Kiko Fermenia. It's reported that he has been in talks with four different La Liga sides with the likes of Eibar, Alaves, Getafe, and Valencia, but also Russian Spartak Moscow.

Fermenia's contract with the English side is due to expire in the incoming summer, which means that if Watford isn't able to win promotion to the Premier League immediately, the right-back might pack his backs. He is keen on playing out his prime years in any of Europe's best leagues, so if Eibar and company keep having an interest in signing him, his departure is incoming.

Elche: A star sticking with his club

40-year-old Segunda Division veteran, the central-forward Nino, scored the late goal that won the Segunda Division promotion playoffs, becoming a hero for Elche. At this point, he will have played under Elche at three different Spanish football levels, including Primera, Segunda, and Segunda Division B. It's highly unlikely for him to want to finish his career at a club different than Elche, and it is believed that he will retire at the end of the current La Liga campaign.

The Franjiverdes' board is on the right track, already signing a replacement for Nino in the face of Guido Carillo. The Southampton over €20 Million flop has joined on a free transfer. Having played for Monaco and Leganes, it's possible that he might be misplaced if Elche is to get relegated to La Liga 2 immediately. Keeping in mind that the club didn't spend money on him, both sides might reach an agreement in the summer of next year, which will see Elche register a nice amount of profit.

Acquiring Serie A winger

Torino's winger Lucas Boyé is another of the newest additions that arrived at Elche to help them in their top-flight mission. He's been spending seasons loaned out to different teams all around Europe, including England, Scotland, and Greece. It seems like the Serie A side has no intention of giving Boyé any playtime soon. With the included clause for a buy option at the end of his loan at Elche, it's quite possible that the transfer will be made permanent.

Getafe: Is the next Virgil van Dijk here?

During the latest transfer windows, they were keen on getting a hold of what was dubbed the next Virgil van Dijk in the face of Feyenoord's Marcos Senesi. The defender had a powerful season performance and was named the best performing defender of the 2019/2020 Eredivisie campaign.

This has resulted in immense interest from several Serie A and La Liga sides. Senesi has exclaimed that he is staying with the Rotterdam club for at least another season. The Dutch side will find it increasingly harder to ignore the offers made from big clubs, and his future with Feyenoord is uncertain.

Getafe is amongst the sides looking to attract the young defender. A Senesi transfer will be a long-term solution to almost every defensive lineup. The Eredivise side turned down both Getafe and Sevilla's bids, rumored to be around €15 Million, and is looking for no less than €20 Million. Another magnificent campaign, and we might see Senesi's value skyrocket with lots of teams are keeping tabs on the 23-year-old.

Missed out on the opportunity

Fabio Abreu is on the list of players who have been rumored to be a Getafe target. The Angolan just recently joined the Saudi Arabian football club Al-Batin but having played only in Portugal so far, it's believed that he will have a hard time settling in his new league. Abreu will probably spend the season with Al-Batin, but a future move isn't out of the picture. He scored 13 times in 34 appearances, a result which keeps intriguing certain clubs, with Getafe bitter for being unable to get a hold of him.

Granada: The Spanish side will enjoy Yangel Herrera's services for yet another season.

Manchester City agreed on loaning him back for a second season with Granada. It's reported that both sides are enjoying the chemistry between the defensive midfielder and the Nasrids, and they would want to make this loan a permanent transfer.

City for sure has high hope for the Venezuelan, but they still believe he isn't at the level required to play for them. He is yet to make an appearance for the English side, and this will be his 4th season out on loan. If the Citizens don't want to use him after the end of this campaign, he may lose his patience with them and opt-out.

Another loanee possibly on the verge of a permanent transfer

It seems like this is the strategy for Granada CF, as they would want to make another loan a permanent move – the loan of Jesús Vallejo. After an uneventful half a season spent at England's Wolverhampton Wanderers, he left for the Rojiblancos during the January transfer window. It seems that Granada has been delighted with his play under them as he contributed to their 7th spot finish.

This summer, Vallejo's loan contract was extended for another year after they couldn't reach an agreement for a permanent transfer with fellow La Liga side Real Madrid who holds the defender's ownership. It's been rumored that Granada really wants to pursue his signature, and we might see this happening in the next transfer window.

Huesca: Nothing to see here

Huesca’s most significant signing in recent years was Pablo Maffeo. The former Manchester City man joined VfB Stuttgart, setting their club record for a transfer at €9 Million, but has yet to live up to the hype. He spent last season in another Spanish club – Girona and is now on loan in Huesca with an option to be bought. The Azulgranas seem delighted with his play as he scored a crucial goal earning his team the 1-1 draw vs. Villareal at the begging of the season.

Speaking of Villareal, one of their men is currently plying his trade with Huesca. Javi Ontiveros, who came through both Real Betis and Malaga's youth academies, is presently property of Villareal. He joined SD Huesca on a season-long loan deal for the 2020/2021 campaign. With just two goals in 30 games, the winger is looking to improve his play before becoming an integral part of Villareal's squad. Huesca can offer him precisely this experience, and that's why it's believed that he might be staying with them for another season after this one ends.

Another flop joining Huesca

Maffeo isn't the only flop who found himself playing with Huesca. Everton's failure of a signature Sandro Ramirez joined the newly promoted Spanish side on a free transfer after the Merseyside club paid €6 Million for him. Since joining the Premier League team in 2017, he has scored just three goals in over 60 appearances. He had a half a season-long stint with Sevilla and a full season loans with Real Sociedad and Valladolid.

Levante: An exciting season ahead of Levante

They managed to become a somewhat consistent mid-table team in the Spanish top flight, with the prospect of gaining more momentum after they recently snatched a Real Madrid duo. The Bats signed Los Blancos' Jorge de Frutos and Dani Gomez for a total of €5 Million. This is already an excellent start to bolstering the squad.

The rumor had it that another talent was bound to join the La Liga side, but Roma's Mert Cetin was offloaded to Verona just nine days after signing for the Giallorossi. He has also received offers from Sampdoria and Galatasaray, as the Turkish side is trying to persuade him to return to the Süper Lig. It seems that Roma's plans for the 23-year-old center-back are to let him amass a certain amount of experience in the Serie A before integrating him in their squad.

Cetin has expressed his desire to play in one of Europe's top leagues, and now he has to choose whether he wants to establish himself in Italy or Spain, with Levante keeping their eye on him. It's believed they will go for a second move for him in January.

Bilbao looking for a goalkeeper replacement

Another piece of the latest gossip is Athletic Bilbao's alleged interest in signing Levante's first choice goalie Aitor Fernandez who has been performing rather satisfactory. Bilbao might want to bring in more competition amongst their own goalkeepers, and Fernandez is one of the limited transfer available to them. For those unaware, Bilbao has pretty strict transfer policies forbidding players who are born outside of the Basque Country to join the squad.

Osasuna: Obligated to buy

In the last transfer windows, Osasuna was linked with numerous footballers, but in the end, they kept their spending relatively small, attracting only a handful of new players. Such a newcomer was Enric Gallego. He was loaned from Getafe with a buyout clause making Osasuna obligated to buy him if they escape the relegation zone, which they did.

Other loan-related news

Another loanee currently plying his trade under Osasuna is Jonathan Calleri. A central forward who never got the chance to play for the club that he is property of – Deportivo Maldonado. Since signing with them, he's been touring the world being loaned out to different teams from Brazil's Serie A, England's Premier League, and mainly Spain's La Liga. He played under Las Palmas, Alaves, and Espanyol, before coming to Osasuna.

Last season was a flop for the attacking player, who managed a single goal in the entirety of 27 games. With such a result, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Espanyol got relegated. Maldonado may be becoming impatient with the Argentinean and are probably looking to offload him permanently. Which is the reason why we may see him become Osasuna's property at the end of this campaign.

Similarly to Calleri, Ante Budimir is a loanee who be bought by the La Liga side. When you look at his past teams, an interesting trend can be spotted. While owned by Sampdoria, he played a season under loan for Crotone and then joined them later. While in Crotone, he was loaned to Mallorca again for a season, and guess what – Mallorca bought him the following year. Now he's loaned from Mallorca to Osasuna, and it's only logical that he will join Los Rojillos when the loan expires.

Real Betis: Klopp looking to reinforce his defense

The latest gossip suggests that a Betis player Aissa Mandi, might be leaving the team. He is a target for both Premier League sides Liverpool and West Ham United. The Reds have reportedly made a bid just shy of €10 Million, but the Spanish side isn't willing to accept anything less than €11.8 Million. According to both Spanish and English media outlets, Mandi was a top priority target for the Reds' 2020/2021 campaign. And after the humiliating match against Aston Villa, which saw them concede seven goals, a switch-up in the Reds' defensive structure might be necessary.

With Dejan Lovren's recent departure to Zenit St. Petersburg, the Algerian National footballer can contribute a lot towards replacing the Croatian. The main perc is Mandi's versatility, and we got to be sure that it won't take long before Jurgen Klopp figures out how to use him in the most optimal way. Completing this transfer will be nice for the English team, but Betis will find it hard to part ways with the defender.

Arsenal also linked with Betis.

The Gunnars' Dani Ceballos, who spend the 2019/2020 season at the Emirates on loan from Real Madrid, has stated his desire to return to the club, which brought him up – Real Betis. He enjoyed a reasonably eventful campaign with the London side as he contributed to winning the FA Cup and made a total of 37 appearances, but has now stated that he is looking to return to his former club.

Real Madrid: Zidane feels the need for fresh reinforcements.

Eden Hazard wasn't as impactful as everyone thought he would be and definitely couldn't fill up the void that Cristiano Ronaldo left, and Gareth Bale signed a loan deal with his old club Tottenham. More so, some of Los Blancos' key players are starting to age, and it's becoming evident for Zidane that specific squad changes have to be made. He must be looking at getting the signature of young and promising talents if he wants to have a squad that is able to contend for the top spot in Europe in the years to come.

The solutions in front of Los Blancos

Such a player is Brahim Diaz – a forward which Real picked up from Manchester City. He spent a season with the club before being sent on a season-long loan to AC Milan. It's been reported that the Serie A side has been delighted with Diaz's services and would fight to get him a permanent move to San Siro. However, Zidane certainly won't allow that to happen as his hopes in Diaz are huge. Still, this is all rumors, and we will know only when this campaign ends.

A young prospect who has got in talks with Los Blancos is the Rennes' midfielder Eduardo Camavinga. He can bring a lot of defensive potential to the table. He is an excellent ball holder and can win possession anytime with his tackles. He still lacks in the offensive department, having netted two times in 37 appearances, but this is something that Real’s staff will work on.

Real Sociedad: Desperately needing help

A player who can help Sociedad work towards their goals is Monchu. A product of both Mallorca and Barcelona's youth academies, he is definitely a young prospect looking forward to a great future. He has 63 appearances for Barca's B team but is yet to play in a league game for the senior team. He actually made his debut and only app for Barcelona so far in a Champions League round of 16 match against Napoli replacing Antoine Griezmann.

The midfielder has been linked with a move to several La Liga sides, like Real Sociedad, Valencia, and Real Betis. It was rumored that he has an interest in playing with the Sociedad kit and is likely to sign with them until it was revealed that he would be joining Girona on loan for this season.

Barca has expressed their desire to let Monchu get the playtime that they can't currently offer him, but they wouldn't want to part ways with such a talent. He will need at least another season of La Liga experience, and it is highly likely that he may join Sociedad in the future before returning to Camp Nou.

Real Valladolid: Looking for a goal-scoring solution

Brazil's most successful club Palmeiras' attacking midfielder Gustavo Scarpa may hold the key to ending the crisis at Valladolid. He, alongside teammate Dudu, shared the top goal scorer spot in Palmeiras last season, but Scarpa also managed six assists. He has been linked with a move to several clubs with the likes of Fenerbahce Almeria and also Valladolid, who reportedly were the closest to his signature.

Scarpa has a lot to offer in an attacking plan, as he isn't limited to just scoring. During his season with Fluminese before joining Palmeiras, he amassed a total of 13 assists alongside two goals as he was used as a ball deliverer. Paired with the new addition to Valladolid – Austrian Wolfsberger's Shon Weissman, maybe the Albivioletas will soon be past the offensive slum they currently find themselves in.

Another forward option

Valladolid has been rumored to be in talks with Olympique Marseille's striker Valere Germain. It looks like he isn't up to par with the standards of the highly competitive French Ligue 1, having scored just twice in 30 appearances during the 2019/2020 campaign. His contract is coming to an end in the summer of 2021, and his future In OM is looking somewhat shaky.

Germain has attracted attention from all over the world, but he expressed his desire to play in the Champions League. Out of the clubs that have an interest in buying him, only Valladolid and Mainz 05 have a chance of fulfilling such a requirement.

Sevilla: Jules Kounde on the verge of leaving

Recently it was confirmed by the team's sporting director Monchi that Premier League grand Manchester City is showing a significant interest in signing Sevilla's Jules Kounde. Furthermore, he said that a bid of nearly €50 Million had been received, considered, and already turned down by the board.

City has struggled to find a long-term defensive replacement for Vincent Kompany, failing to reach an agreement with their primary target Kalidou Koulibaly. Fellow La Liga side Atletico Madrid's Jose Gimenez is another player the Citizens bid for, but the Atleti weren't pleased with the offer. All of this makes Kounde’s move to Manchester City increasingly likely, as he's a lot more affordable and still possesses immense skill.

Replacement for Kounde

It's rumored that Sevilla is already on the lookout for someone to replace Kounde, with FC Porto's Diogo Leite being linked with a transfer to the Andalusians. After a failed move to Valencia at the beginning of the year, it was reported that his move to Sevilla is pretty much a reality. It seems, though, that these rumors weren't really up to par as at the end of the transfer window, he stayed in Porto.

Whether the €15 Million bid was not enough or the Portuguese team wasn't ready to part ways with the 21-year-old, the transfer was left incomplete. Surely though, Monchi wouldn't give up on the idea of signing Leite, as he reportedly is a massive fan of the defender. This only means that a deal will be discussed again once the winter transfer window opens.

Valencia: On the lookout for a new defender

Such an option is Manchester United's 3rd choice keeper Sergio Romero. It's been rumored that he has been dissatisfied with the amount of playtime he gets with the Red Devils. Furthermore, the return of Dean Henderson from his loan at Sheffield United makes it seem like starting Sergio Romero is hardly an option anymore for Ole Gunnar Solskjær. The keeper is valued at £6m, which wouldn't be too costly for the Spanish club. If they can offer Romero more 1st team appearances, it's highly likely that he will opt-out of Old Trafford.

Manchester United sharing their interest

At the same time, Manchester United themselves are having an interest in Valencia's midfielder Uros Racic. He is returning to the Mestalla after an extremely successful season on loan at the Portuguese side Famalicao. They managed to secure 6th place in Portugal's top flight after being promoted the same year.

The 22-year-old player who has been compared to Nemanja Matic in terms of playstyle is reportedly a well-known name in Old Trafford. The Red Devils have been keeping an eye on him for quite some time, and with the financial drought in Valencia, the time to pay for him might have come. In his contract, Valencia has inserted a €100 million release clause, but it's reported that they may as well settle for quite a bit less. With a mutual interest in certain players, Valencia and United may agree upon a swap deal.

Villareal: Eyeing up a starlet

It has been reported that Villareal has laid eyes on Ligue 2 side Chateroux’s forward Haissem Hassan. He's a player that was picked up by Chateroux in 2018 from fellow Ligue 2 team Paris FC. Since then, he has played 16 games in total for the French club’s second team and managed to score four times. The 18-year-old is now a regular starting player for the French side with a total of 13 appearances for the senior squad.

According to rumors, Villareal isn't the only one showing interest in the French youth national. Lille, Fiorentina, and Brentford have made their interest in the youngster known and have sent offers for his signature. Hassan is a prospect that we should keep a close eye on in the coming years. Getting hold of his services may benefit the team's play and be a great investment, as he is currently valued somewhere between €1 and €2 Million, and this number is expected to grow.

Looking to get him back in the squad

Zambo Anguissa served Villareal well during the 2019-2020 campaign and has now returned to the club that owns him – Fulham. He made 36 La Liga appearances and scored three goals, proving helpful in achieving the Spanish team’s 5th league place. Several media outlets have hinted that Anguissa’s relationship with Villareal is far from over. It's reported that he enjoyed playing under Unai Emery in the Spanish top flight and that the Yellow Submarine are more than willing to get him a permanent move to Primera Division.
