Vancouver Whitecaps to win

LA Galaxy have been absymal defensively and it is hard to see them coming away from Saturday's game with a positive result.

Two teams who have made vastly different starts to the 2025 Major League Soccer season will lock horns on Saturday as LA Galaxy entertain the challenge of Vancouver Whitecaps. Our LA Galaxy vs Vancouver Whitecaps prediction gives an insight on what to expect in this weekend's affair at Dignity Health Sports Park.

LA Galaxy vs Vancouver Whitecaps prediction: Whitecaps to record consecutive wins for the first time since May

Key stats

  • Our LA Galaxy vs Vancouver Whitecaps betting tips take into account the fact that the home side have managed just one win from 20 league games this season.
  • LA Galaxy have also been poor defensively, keeping just one clean sheet and conceding a whopping 42 goals.
  • While the hosts have been poor at the back all season long, Vancouver Whitecaps have also had defensive issues of their own of late, letting in 12 goals across their last five matches.
  • Meanwhile, yellow cards have been at a premium in recent games involving the Whitecaps, as each of their last six matches have ended with fewer than five cautions.

Correct score prediction: LA Galaxy 1-2 Vancouver Whitecaps

Only six of the other 29 teams in the MLS have netted more times than Vancouver's 35 this term, while LA Galaxy lead the way in terms of goals conceded.

We are backing the visitors to come away with all three points and heap more misery on their hosts.

Vancouver Whitecaps, on the other hand, secured a much-needed return to winning ways by narrowly beating Los Angeles FC at BMO Stadium on Monday.

Emmanuel Sabbi's third goal of the season was enough to get the job done for Jesper Sorensen's men in a game where they were on the back foot for large spells.

Player to watch – Marco Reus

Marco Reus was LA Galaxy's best player against San Jose and capped off a fine display with a lovely goal to earn a draw.

The German is now up to 10 direct goal contributions for the season and has been perhaps the only silver lining for his side in an otherwise dark season.

Reus now back up to full speed after slow start in LA

Having arrived off the back of a couple of injury-plagued seasons at Borussia Dortmund, Reus needed some time to get going as he managed just one goal in his opening 14 league matches.

However, he has since scored four and assisted six in the subsequent 11 matches, which makes him one to keep an eye on here.
