FT Result - Draw

Both sides are evenly matched on paper, and while Juventus' home advantage gives them a slight edge, we predict Inter Milan will hold out for a share of the spoils.

The heated Derby d'Italia will be on show for the first time this season on Saturday when Serie A giants Juventus and Inter Milan lock horns at the Allianz Stadium.

The rivalry between two of the most successful clubs in Italian football dates back to 1901, making it the most played and oldest active derby in the country.

FootballWhispers’ Juventus vs Inter Milan prediction takes a look at the chances of both teams securing maximum points and bragging rights this weekend.

Juventus vs Inter Milan prediction: A cagey affair expected

Key stats

  • There have been fewer than three goals scored in seven of the last eight meetings between Juventus and Inter Milan, with eight of the 18 goals in that time coming in a 4-4 stalemate last October.
  • Juventus are unbeaten in 10 of their last 11 Serie A home games against Inter Milan, picking up eight wins and one draw since February 2014.
  • Inter have lost just one of their most recent six away matches in the league while picking up three wins and two draws since February’s 1-0 loss against Juventus at the Allianz Stadium.
  • Juventus are on a run of nine wins from their 10 home games in Serie A this year, with a 4-0 loss at the hands of Atalanta on March 9 being the exception.
  • The Bianconeri have opened the scoring in four of their most recent five games across all competitions, with a combined 13 goals scored across the four matches.

Correct score prediction: Juventus 1-1 Inter Milan

While Inter have already dropped points this term, Juventus are one of just two sides with maximum points and will be looking to keep the ball rolling this weekend. Both sides are expected to be in the race for the Scudetto once again and we predict they will cancel out each other’s efforts and settle for a share of the spoils in this one.

Pre-game odds and win probability: Both sides evenly matched on paper

  • HOME: 17/10 (2.70) – 37%
  • DRAW: 2/1 (3.00) – 33.3%
  • AWAY: 7/4 (2.75) – 36.4%

While Juventus and Inter Milan return to league action off the back of contrasting results, they are evenly matched on paper, as indicated by their win probabilities.

While Inter are 36.4% likely to secure maximum points according to the bookmakers, the Bianconeri are just about favoured, with a 37% win probability.

Juventus maintained their 100% start to the new campaign last time out when they secured a 1-0 victory over a dogged Genoa side at the D.

Inter Milan, meanwhile, saw their run of six consecutive victories against Udinese come to an end just before the international break as they fell to a 2-1 loss when the two sides met at the San Siro.

Juventus have just about had the upper hand in this fixture across the most recent 10 meetings between the two teams, having recorded four wins, one more than Inter Milan’s three.

Their last encounter came back in February, when Francisco Conceicao’s 74th-minute strike fired the Bianconeri to a 1-0 victory in their Serie A clash at the Allianz Stadium.

Juventus preview: A worrying absentee list

Juventus ensured they went into the international break in high spirits as they secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Genoa on August 31.

Following a goalless first half at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium, Dusan Vlahovic rose highest and connected with a pinpoint corner kick from Filip Kostic in the 74th minute to fire the Bianconeri to all three points.

Juventus have now won their opening two games this term, having edged out Parma 2-0 in the season opener on August 24 courtesy of second-half strikes from Jonathan David and Vlahovic.

Having taken over at the helm of affairs in March, head coach Igor Tudor has started his first full season on a high and will be looking to make an early title statement this weekend.

However, the 47-year-old will be unable to call upon several players down the spine of the team, with Conceicao, Mattia Perin, Juan Cabal, Fabio Miretti and Arkadiusz Milik all sidelined through injuries while Andrea Cambiaso remains suspended.

Predicted lineup: Di Gregorio (GK), Gatti, Bremer, Kelly, Kalulu, Locatelli, Thuram, Mario, Koopmeiners, Yildiz, David

Last five matches

  • Genoa 0-1 Juventus
  • Juventus 2-0 Parma
  • Atalanta 1-2 Juventus
  • Dortmund 1-2 Juventus
  • Juventus 2-2 Reggiana

Inter Milan preview: Looking to bounce back

Inter Milan were condemned to their first home defeat of the season just before the international break when they fell to a 2-1 defeat against Udinese on August 31.

Dutch international Denzel Dumfries struck in the 17th minute to put the hosts in the driver’s seat, but Udinese upped the ante, with Keinan Davis and Arthur Atta hitting the target to turn the game on its head.

Prior to that, Cristian Chivu’s men were on a run of five back-to-back victories, including an emphatic 5-0 win over Torino in their 2025-26 Serie A curtain-raiser on August 24.

While Inter Milan will look to bounce back this weekend, they go up against an opposing side that they failed to get the better of in both home and away meetings last term.

The Nerazzurri saw their two-goal lead slip away in the final 20 minutes as both teams played out a thrilling 4-4 draw in their first encounter last season before Juventus picked up a 1-0 victory in February’s return fixture.

Predicted lineup: Sommer (GK), Bastoni, Acerbi, Akanji, Dimarco, Calhanoglu, Sucic, Barella, Dumfries, Thuram, Martinez

Last five matches

  • Inter Milan 1-2 Udinese
  • Inter Milan 5-0 Torino
  • Inter Milan 2-0 Olympiacos
  • Monza 2-2 Inter Milan (Inter Milan win on penalties)
  • AS Monaco 1-2 Inter Milan

Player to watch – Marcus Thuram

Juventus vs Inter Milan prediction

Following an impressive 2024-25 campaign, Marcus Thuram has started the new season on a strong note and we expect the French striker to cause Juventus some problems this weekend.

Having netted twice in the 5-0 victory over Torino on the opening weekend, Thuram set up Denzel Dumfries' opener in the 2-1 loss versus Udinese just before the international break to take his goal involvement tally to three.

The 28-year-old was in action for France against Iceland in the World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday and should lead the attack for Inter Milan this weekend, alongside skipper Lautaro Martinez, who will be looking to add to his two goals in 14 league matches against Juventus.

After netting 13 goals in his debut season in the Serie A, Thuram hit 14 in 32 appearances (27 starts) last term while also chipping in four assists as the Nerazzurri finished second in the table, one point behind champions Napoli.
