🔥 Our Hot tip

Under 2.5 total goals

Four of Venezuela's last six matches have produced under 2.5 goals

Not much rides on this game as Jamaica's failure to secure any point from their opening two fixtures means they cannot finish in the top two of Group B, while Venezuela's 100% start to the competition means that they have already booked their place in the knockout stage.

We're predicting a close game between these two nations as Jamaica will be desperate to bow out on a high note while Venezuela have the option of resting all of their key players, which will weaken their starting lineup.

Jamaica preview: Not shown enough quality at either end

Things started badly for Jamaica against Ecuador as Kasey Palmer put through his own goal in the 13th minute to hand the South Americans an early lead.

Ecuador doubled their advantage in first-half stoppage-time via a penalty and although Michail Antonio pulled a goal back early in the second 45, Ecuador sealed their victory with a third goal in stoppage-time.

Venezuela preview: Success based on a solid defence

Venezuela upset the odds for the second game on the run to secure their place in the knockout stage.

A 57th-minute penalty from veteran forward Salomón Rondón, who plays his football in Mexico, proved enough for Venezuela to claim a narrow 1-0 victory against Jaime Lozano's side.

Predicted lineup: Romo (GK), Osorio, Ferraresi, Navarro, Aramburu, Bello, Soteldo, Herrera, Martínez, Rondón & Savarino

Player to watch – Salomón Rondón

Venezuela's all-time top goalscorer is now 34 years old but that hasn't stopped him from continuing to impact at the highest level for his country.

Salomón Rondón, who now plays his club football for Mexican side Pachuca, opened his account for the 2024 Copa America against Mexico with a 57th-minute penalty that won the game and clinched qualification for the knockout stage.

Venezuela's veteran forward is still effective

Rondon spent time in the Premier League with West Brom, Newcastle and Everton so is the most familiar name in this Venezuela team and we're expecting the veteran forward to play some part against Jamaica and have an impact, even if that means coming off the bench to score the winning goal.
