Despite drawing 0-0 with Turkey in their last friendly encounter in midweek, Italy remain 1/4 favourites to beat Bosnia & Herzegovina this weekend. The visitors meanwhile, have been equipped with a measly 11.1% chance of upsetting the odds in Empoli, which seems fair following some dismal results.

Player to watch – Mateo Retegui
Italy’s squad is short on established goal-scorers at international level, though Mateo Retegui is one of a clutch of attackers aiming to stake a claim as a first pick in Luciano Spalletti’s frontline ahead of this summer’s European Championship.

Retegui’s record for Italy is impressive
Argentina-born Retegui has only played seven times for Italy since switching allegiances to the Azzurri in 2023, though the 25-year-old has found the net four times for his new nation.
The Genoa star endured a frustrating campaign at club level in 2023/24, hitting just seven goals in Serie A in 29 appearances in the division. Retegui is wily enough in and around the box to convert more chances however, and he will be eager to build confidence ahead of the Euros by notching this weekend.
