Israel will be looking to build upon their draw against Mali this weekend when they take on Paraguay in Group D of the 2024 Olympic games.

Most recent H2Hs: Never met before

Saturday marks the first-ever meeting between Israel and Paraguay at this level of international football and we're predicting a close and competitive 90 minutes between the pair.

Israel Olympic preview: Need more threat going forward

Israel needed a helping hand in order to claim a point from their opening group game against Mali.

An own goal in the 56th minute put Israel in front but shortly after Mali equalised and the scoreline ended 1-1.

Israel didn't create enough chances on matchday one and will be hoping for more luck against a Paraguay side that conceded five goals against Japan.

Predicted lineup: Niron (GK), Goldberg, Lemkin, Feingold, Ben Harush, Gandelman, Frada, Gloukh, Abada, Turgeman & Madmon

Player to watch – Julio Enciso

Julio Enciso made the move from his homeland in 2022 to join Premier League side Brighton where he has gone on to feature in 41 games across all competitions, scoring four goals.

The 20-year-old hasn't managed to command a regular spot in the Seagulls' starting lineup so far but that hasn't stopped the forward from earning 17 caps for the Paraguay senior international team.

Paraguay could do with a big performance from the Brighton forward

Enciso is certainly one of the more experienced players in the Paraguay Olympic squad and we're hoping to see the Brighton man take on more responsibility in his country's next game against Israel, one which the South Americans cannot afford to lose.
