Internacional will travel to the Estadio Alfredo Jaconi to take on Juventude on Sunday night as the Brazilian Serie A continues to take shape.
Both teams currently sit in midtable but with 15 games still to play, a push to finish inside the Copa Libertadores spots is still on the agenda for both.

Juventude vs Internacional prediction: Opportunity knocks for the hosts
Key Stats
- Juventude have won their last three home matches in all competitions.
- Internacional have failed to win any of their last eight away matches in all competitions.
- Both teams have scored in each of Juventude's last nine matches in all competitions.
Correct score prediction: Juventude 2-1 Internacional
Juventude should be feeling supremely confident coming into this one, especially when you consider how well they have played at home in recent time compared to Internacional's pitiful away record. The away team should at least get on the scoresheet, though, as Juventude have conceded at least once in each of their last ten matches.
Pre-game odds and win probability: Juventude offer excellent value
- HOME: 19/10 (2.90) – 34.5%
- DRAW: 2/1 (3.00) – 33.3%
- AWAY: 5/4 (2.25) – 44.4%
*odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change
The Juventude vs Internacional odds indicate that this will be a closely fought contest but it is somewhat surprising that the visitors have been priced as the favourites. A win for Juventude has been priced at 19/10 with Ladbrokes while a win for Internacional has been priced at 5/4. The draw, which wouldn't a terrible result for either side, has been priced at 2/1.

Most recent H2Hs: Neck and neck
The recent head-to-head record between Juventude and Internacional only illustrates further how closely matched these two teams are. There have been three draws in their last five encounters and both teams have picked up a win each in the other two meetings.
Going further back, this is a fixture that has been kinder to Internacional. Juventude have only won one of their last ten matches against the Brazilian giants.

Juventude preview: Punching above their weight
Juventude secured promotion to the Brazilian Serie A last season after finishing in second place in Serie B and have done well upon their return to the top flight. They are currently in 13th place and their end to the season could feature either a chase for continental football or a relegation battle. A win here would send them in the right direction.

Internacional preview: A false position?
Internacional currently sit in 12th position in the league table but they have played three fewer games than most of the teams above them. If they are to win those three games in hand then they will fly up to seventh position and have their eyes firmly set on playing in the Copa Libertadores next season.
Predicted lineup: Rochet (GK), Gomes, Vitao, Renan, Bernabei, Fernando, Henrique, Tabata, Carvalho, Wesley & Borre

Player to watch: Ronie Carrillo
It's not been the greatest of debut seasons for Ronie Carrillo in a Juventude shirt but there have been signs in recent weeks that the Ecuadorian is starting to get up to speed with the pace of the Brazilian game. Carrillo has scored twice in his last five appearances, including the opener in Juventude's 2-1 win over Corinthians in the cup.
It's not unusual for players to struggle when they first come to the league and considering only two years ago he was playing in the second tier in Ecuador, he can't have too many complaints with how has found life at Juventude so far.
