Inter Miami could not have asked for a better fixture to play before the season takes a break for six weeks, and they will be determined to ensure they sign off with a commanding victory to keep pace with Nashville at the top of the Eastern Conference.
Although Inter have performed well so far this season, it has been far from a normal campaign to date. Javier Mascherano's sudden departure in April sent shockwaves through the league, but Messi and co have arguably looked better under Guillermo Hoyos.
Miami have won five and lost just one of the seven matches they have played under Hoyos, but they have been notably more potent in front of goal, scoring 20 goals at an average of close to three goals per match.
For the match against Philadelphia, Hoyos's only injury absentee is Tadeo Allende, who is nursing a knee problem.
As for Philadelphia, their situation has been getting more bleak by the week, and they are now almost certainly going to miss out on the playoffs, which is quite the fall after winning the Supporters' Shield last season.
One of the biggest issues for Philly this season has been at the back. Across their last six matches, they have conceded 11 goals at an average of nearly two goals per game. This is not the type of form you want to be in in the build-up to a match against Lionel Messi.
So far, they have conceded 24 goals in the Eastern Conference, which is just nine fewer than the total number of goals they conceded throughout the entirety of last season. For context, Philly still have 21 matches to play.
Manager Bradley Carnell knows that this sort of form cannot continue for much longer, and if he is to produce a shock result this weekend, he will have to do it without the suspended Olewthu Makhanya and the injured quartet of Quinn Sullivan, Japhet Sery Larsen, Eddy Davis and Jesus Beun.
