🔥 Our Hot tip

Hungary to win

Hungary are unbeaten in 2026, winning two of their last three matches.

Having failed to qualify for this summer’s World Cup, both Hungary and Kazakhstan are preparing for their final outing of the 2025-26 season, with the Nagyerdei Stadium in Debrecen set to host Tuesday’s tasty international friendly.

The lack of a ticket to North America means Hungary will now be setting their sights on the UEFA Nations League campaign later in the year, and a positive result on Tuesday will certainly push them in the right direction.

The same can be said about Kazakhstan, who are preparing for a return to the third tier of the Nations League following their relegation from division ‘B’.

It has been 40 years since Hungary last competed at a World Cup, and the drought will now continue for another four years after Marco Rossi’s men failed to impress during the qualifying process.

The Magyars finished a couple of points behind second-placed Republic of Ireland in their group, and they only have themselves to blame given they conceded late goals in three of their six matches.

Two of those games came against Ireland, with Hungary shipping a 93rd minute equaliser in Dublin before also letting in two late goals in a 3-2 defeat in Budapest.

Putting aside that poor qualifying run, there is no denying that the two-time World Cup finalists have experienced a recent resurgence – something underlined by the fact they made three previous European Championship campaigns and also competed in the top UEFA Nations League division for the last two seasons.

Rossi’s men have also performed well since the qualifiers, with the side picking up two wins in a draw in three international friendlies against Slovenia, Greece and Finland.

One more friendly encounter awaits as the Magyars prepare for a Nations League campaign that will see them face Ukraine, Georgia and Northern Ireland.

When it comes to Kazakhstan, the national side have endured a significant dip since their heroics of 2022 and 2023.

During those years, the Hawks picked up 11 international victories, including a number of notable results against tough opposition – none more so than their 3-2 victory over Denmark in a European Championship qualifier.

This season has been less kind for Talgat Baysufinov and his men, who only managed a couple of World Cup qualifying victories over Liechtenstein, while also enduring a 6-0 thumping at the hands of Belgium and a couple of embarrassing friendly defeats to North Korea and the Faroe Islands.

Baysufinov, who is managing the national side for the third time, has been tasked with rebuilding for the Nations League campaign later in the year, and the Hawks have managed a couple of victories over Namibia and Comoros since the start of 2026.

Given Kazakhstan will face the Faroe Islands, Slovakia and Moldova in their group, there will be pressure on the team to be competitive.

Whispers predicts: Hungary 2-0 Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan picked up a memorable 3-2 victory over Hungary when the two nations last met in 2018, though a lot has changed since then.

The Kazakhs are not as strong as they once were, and we are backing Hungary to win the match at around the 1/4 mark.

For better odds, you could try the under 3.5 goals market, with the bookies currently pricing the bet at around the 53/100 mark.

To find even more value, we recommend trying the correct score market, with Hungary currently priced at 11/2 to win the match 2-0.
