Hull could not have imagined a better start to their campaign given they have won both of their first two league games, with their wins coming against Manchester United and Coventry City.
That 1-0 triumph over Coventry will be particularly pleasing as they are likely to be a relegation rival, so to already be leading them by six points must be seen as an incredible achievement.
Manager Sergej Jakirovic will be the first Hull boss to face Villa in any competition since Nigel Adkins in 2019, and a win for the current head coach would be his side's first in five meetings with the visitors, though a defeat would be their second in that time.
