Halifax to win

Halifax have won four of their last five matches against Woking.

Halifax are set to take on Woking in the National League on Wednesday, 3 September, as non-league football continues through the international break.

Neither side has started the new season particularly well, but the hosts will see this as a good opportunity to pick up some points and climb the table.

As part of our selection of non-league betting tips, check out our Halifax vs Woking prediction below.

Halifax vs Woking prediction: The hosts to get the win

Key Stats

  • Halifax have won two of their last three home league matches.
  • Woking have lost five of their last seven matches in all competitions.
  • Woking have failed to score in three of their last five matches against Halifax.

Correct score prediction: Halifax 1-0 Woking

Home advantage could be key in a match between two teams that are fairly evenly matched on paper. Halifax's recent record against Woking is also impressive, so at a price of 10/11, it's difficult to turn down the home win.

Pre-game odds and win probability: Halifax are only narrow favourites

  • HOME: 10/11 (1.91) – 52.4%
  • DRAW: 9/4 (3.25) – 30.8%
  • AWAY: 5/2 (3.50) – 28.6%

*odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change

The Halifax vs Woking odds are a little surprising in that Halifax aren't shorter than they are. Ladbrokes have only made the hosts slight favourites, giving them a 52.4% chance of victory, while Woking have been given a 28.6% chance of winning the match.

Most recent H2Hs: Advantage Halifax

As mentioned earlier, Halifax have an excellent recent record in this fixture. The Shaymen are unbeaten in their last five matches against Woking, winning four and drawing one. The last time Woking tasted victory against Halifax was back in October 2022, when they beat them 4-0 away from home. A similar result to that would be a huge shock this week.

Halifax preview: Sticking to a winning formula

With no new injuries reported, it is highly likely that Halifax keep on rolling with the same starting XI that beat Yeovil in a five-goal classic at the weekend. Owen Bray scored two of the Shaymen's three goals at the weekend, and will be itching to get back on the pitch on Wednesday night.

Predicted lineup: S.Johnson (GK), Hmami, Tarima, Alimi-Adetoro, Latty-Fairweather, C.Johnson, Turner-Cooke, Bray, Hugill, Cooke, Kawa

Last five results

  • Halifax 3-2 Yeovil
  • Scunthorpe 1-1 Halifax
  • Halifax 1-2 Forest Green
  • Boston 1-0 Halifax
  • Wealdstone 2-1 Halifax

Woking preview: Ashford to come in?

Woking also come into this match on the back of a victory, so an unchanged starting XI isn't out of the question for the Mariners, either. One man who has staked a claim to come into the team is Sam Ashford, who killed the match against Morecombe with a goal off the bench late in the second half.

Predicted lineup: Norcott (GK), Hinds, Drewe, Odusina, Tunji Akinola, Richards, Andrews, Tim Akinola, Turner, Beautyman, O'Brien

Last five results

  • Morecambe 0-2 Woking
  • Woking 1-1 York
  • Hartlepool 3-0 Woking
  • Woking 1-2 Wealdstone
  • Scunthorpe 3-1 Woking

Player to watch: David Kawa

David Kawa is seen as a young player to watch in non-league football, and after scoring 11 goals in 10 games for Aveley in the National League South last season, he is adapting well to life in the league above. Kawa has two goals in his first six games for Halifax.
