Hosts Gimnasia La Plata sit three points off the top spot in the Liga Profesional and take on bottom half of the table Barracas Central this week.
While there are 15 places separating these two clubs the reality is that a win for the visitors would take the pair onto level points, so there might not be as much between these two sides as the league table suggests.
We're expecting a close and competitive 90 minutes at the Estadio Juan Carmelo Zerillo on Thursday and here are our predictions for the match.

Gimnasia La Plata preview: Won last two at home
Gimnasia suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat at Instituto in their last outings in the Liga Profesional but still remain in sixth position after their opening four games.
Four players in the home squad have scored at least three goals in the Liga Profesional this season with Benjamin Dominguez leading the way on four goals, so Gimnasia have goals in various areas of the team and don't rely on one particular source.
The hosts also have a good defensive record even if though they haven't kept many clean sheets of late, just one in their last six attempts, but they rarely concede more than one goal per game.
Predicted lineup: Insfrán (GK), Cabral, Pintado, Morales, Castro, Colazo, De Blasis, Saravia, Abaldo, Castillo & Domínguez

Barracas Central preview: Lost two of last three on the road
Thursday's guests Barracas Central lost 2-0 in their own backyard to Huracan in their last match, a result that leaves the club sitting eighth from bottom after four games.
Much like their hosts, Barracas don't rely on one goalscorer and in fact have three players on four league goals and one with three which is why we've backed the visitors to score against Gimnasia on Thursday.
However, their defence has been an issue this season with Barracas sitting on a minus-eight goal difference from their opening four fixtures in 2024.
Predicted lineup: Moyano (GK), Goñi, Capraro, Herrera, Mater, Insúa, Rosané, Cantero, Brochero, Zalazar & Aguirre

Player to watch – Pablo De Blasis
36-year-old Pablo De Blasis leads the way creatively for Gimnasia La Plata this season with four assists.
The journeyman midfielder who has played in several different countries including Germany and Spain returned to his homeland in 2023.
Gimnasia's aging midfielder still working his magic
De Blasis has never been much of a goalscorer throughout his career barring one season with Greek side Asteras Tripolis where he managed to score ten times in 38 league games.
However, we're backing the veteran midfielder to work his creative magic against a weak Barracas Central defence on Thursday, helping to guide the home side to another three points.
