Over 3.5 total goals

Six of Germany's last seven games have seen at least three goals

Germany are hoping to get off to the best possible start against Slovenia in the U21 UEFA European Championships in Slovakia on Thursday night, as they search for their fourth title. Two of their previous three triumphs were in 2017 and 2021 after losing out in 2019 and 2023, so could 2025 be the year that the Germans clinch the trophy once more?

Germany U21 vs Slovenia U21 prediction: Germans to cruise to victory?

Key stats

  • Germany are unbeaten in 15 games over all competitions.
  • Slovenia are winless in four matches across all competitions.
  • Germany are unbeaten over the two previous H2Hs.

Correct score prediction: Germany U21 3-1 Slovenia U21

Germany scored more goals than any other team in their qualifying group, remaining undefeated after winning eight of their 10 games. Slovenia impressively topped their qualifying group too, although they have struggled for form since and are not scoring too many goals.

Pre-game odds and win probability: Germany heavily fancied by bookmakers

  • HOME: 4/9 (1.44) – 69.2%
  • DRAW: 4/1 (5.00) – 20.0%
  • AWAY: 11/2 (6.50) – 15.4%

As shown by the implied probabilities, Germany are heavy favourites to claim all three points, with a draw the next fancied outcome at just 20%. Slovenia are only given just over a 15% chance of victory.

Player to watch: Nick Woltemade

Nick Woltemade has made such an impression for Germany U21 that he even started for the senior team in their defeat to Portugal in their UEFA Nations League semi-final. It was fully deserved after 12 goals for Stuttgart at club level in this campaign.

For Germany U21, Woltemade made his mark with a hat-trick in a 3-1 friendly win against one of the other pre-tournament favourites in Spain back in March. Indeed, the forward will be a real threat in Slovakia.
