Correct score prediction: Freiburg 2-1 Basel
Freiburg experienced a slow start to the new season, enduring defeats against Augsburg and FC Koln. However, the team were quick to turn things around, and they now enter Wednesday’s big European clash on the back of successive victories.
Manager Julian Schuster oversaw a thrilling 3-1 win over Stuttgart after the international break, with his side scoring all three goals in the final 12 minutes of the match. Just a few days later, his men travelled away to Werder Bremen and came away with a shock 3-0 win.
Basel are also in good form, with the Swiss champions in the midst of a three-match winning run across all competitions. However, picking up all three points away in Germany is a tough ask. Freiburg will be hoping to utilise their home advantage as they look to kick off their latest European adventure on a winning note.
