Luxembourg lost their opening 14 games against France but when the pair last locked horns in 2017 the game ended in a goalless draw. While that was a huge result for Luxembourg we're not expecting Luc Holtz's side to cause any upsets this week.

Didier Deschamps' team are one of the pre-tournament favourites to win Euro 2024 and this France squad is packed with quality, experience and youth which is the perfect blend when you are going in search of a third European Championship.

France vs Luxembourg prediction: Can Luxembourg cause an upset?

France have won four and drawn one of their last five meetings with Luxembourg but the two nations haven't locked horns since 2017.

France preview: At full strength

Didier Deschamps has been lucky enough to select a full-strength squad ahead of Euro 2024 with no major injuries to any key players.

Bradley Barcola of PSG is the only uncapped player to be called up to the France squad but unless he impresses in both friendlies it's unlikely that he will make the cut for Germany given the fact that there are so many quality, established players that play in a similar position.

Predicted lineup: Maignan (GK), Clauss, T. Hernández, Konaté, Saliba, Kanté, Fofana, Rabiot, Giroud, Mbappé & Griezmann

Luxembourg preview: Improving year on year

Luxembourg have some decent players in their side, players that play in big European leagues and as a result, the nation is currently ranked 87th in the world which is a long way off the lowest ranking of 195th which was recorded in 2006.

Danel Sinani and Gerson Rodrigues provide the main goal threat but aren't likely to get many goalscoring opportunities against a strong France side.

Predicted lineup: Moris (GK), Gerson, Jans, Carlson, Bohnert, C. Martins, Sinani, O. Thill, Olesen, Rodrigues & Philipps

Player to watch – Warren Zaïre-Emery

PSG's teenage sensation will be hoping to make his mark on international football at Euro 2024.

Warren Zaïre-Emery broke into the PSG team last season and ended the 2023/24 campaign with 43 appearances and three goals across four competitions for the French giants.

Zaïre-Emery has already played twice for the French senior side and has a goal to his name, so the step-up to international football hasn't affected the teenager in any way.

The PSG midfielder has a big future in the game

With Eduardo Camavinga and Aurélien Tchouaméni unlikely to feature on Wednesday night due to their club commitments, Zaïre-Emery has every chance of starting against Luxembourg and he is our player to watch on Wednesday night.
