Fortaleza vs Santos predictions: At least one team to blank
Key stats
- Seven of Santos’ last eight matches went below the 2.5-goal threshold.
- Fortaleza have drawn blanks in three consecutive matches.
- At least five cards were awarded in four of Fortaleza’s last five games.
Correct score prediction: Fortaleza 0-0 Santos
While Santos failed to score in five of their last six competitive matches, conversely, they also kept three clean sheets in their last five competitive games.
Like their opponents, Fortaleza have struggled in front of goal, failing to score in five of their last six matches across all competitions. Interestingly, Juan Pablo Vojvoda’s men also kept three clean sheets in their last five home games.
Keeping in mind that both teams have scored only once in their last six respective competitive matches, we believe there is a lot of value in backing the goalless draw at 7/1 (8.00).
Pre-game odds and win probability: Fortaleza are clear favourites
- HOME: 11/10 (2.10) – 47.6%
- DRAW: 11/5 (3.20) – 31.3%
- AWAY: 27/10 (3.70) – 27%
*Odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change
Fortaleza are currently on a five-match losing streak and a six-game winless run across all competitions. They are up against a Santos side that managed only one win in their previous 10 games (D2, L7).
As it stands, Fortaleza and Santos are 17th and 18th in the Brazilian top flight, respectively.
Ahead of this skirmish, Fortaleza are the expected winners at 11/10 (2.10). Teams with these odds usually have a 47.6% probability of winning.

It is also worth noting that six of Santos' last seven games went south of the 1.5-goal marker. For this reason, under 1.5 total goals has an appealing look at 33/20 (2.65). That one has a 37.7% chance of landing.
Most recent H2Hs: A one-sided affair
In addition to winning three consecutive meetings between these teams, Fortaleza have never lost at home to Santos. As a matter of fact, Santos have beaten Fortaleza only once in the last 19 years.
This will be the first clash between these sides since December 2023, as Santos played in Serie B last season.
Fortaleza preview: A few absentees
Fortaleza will be without the services of midfielder Moises, who has not featured for the team since April due to thigh problems, and holding midfielder Lukas Sasha, who broke his forearm in his last appearance in May.
The sending off of Pedro Augusto in the loss to Cruzeiro last month means the midfielder will serve the second of his two-match ban this Thursday.
While Fortaleza's performances in recent weeks have been nothing to write home about, coach Vojvoda will still maintain trust in his forwards, despite their scoring only once in their last six games across all competitions.
Predicted lineup: Ricardo (GK), Mancuso, Mancha, Kuscevic, Tinga, Martinez, Welison, Pochettino, Marinho, Deyverson & Prior.

Santos preview: Hoping to improve their fortunes
Former Barcelona star Neymar will be suspended for this game after being sent off for two bookable offences in the loss to Botafogo last Friday.
Midfielder Tomas Rincon picked up an injury in that clash as well, making his availability questionable for this game, while right-back Aderlan and left-winger Yeferson Soteldo are ruled out this Thursday due to hamstring injuries.
Lastly, defender Ze Ivaldo is walking a tightrope, as he is only one card away from suspension, having accumulated four yellow cards already this season.
Predicted lineup: Brazao (GK), Escobar, Ivaldo, Basso, Souza, Pituca, Rafael, Barreal, Rollheiser, Guilherme & Washington.

Player to watch: Juan Martin Lucero

Juan Martin Lucero was impressive early last month, scoring three goals and registering an assist in the first 10 days of May. However, the Argentine forward has struggled to find his scoring shoes since then, drawing blanks in six consecutive appearances across all competitions. It will be interesting to see if Lucero can get back to scoring ways on Thursday.
