Fluminense vs Borussia Dortmund prediction: Goals galore for Dortmund and Fluminense
Key Stats
- Dortmund have found the back of the net at least two times in 10 of their past 12 outings, scoring a total of 20 goals in their six most recent fixtures.
- Fluminense have been in fine goalscoring form themselves, netting two or more times in six of their last seven
- The Brazilian side will hope to take advantage of BVB's porous defensive unit given their German counterparts have kept just two clean sheets in 14 games.
Correct score prediction: Fluminense 2-3 Borussia Dortmund
Dortmund will be seen as favourites given their status as one of the top teams in the Bundesliga, a division considered to be among the best in the world, but their defensive vulnerability will likely mean that Fluminense have opportunities to make their mark on the game.

Borussia Dortmund preview: Strong end to the season
Dortmund's quest to qualify for the Champions League went to the wire, but they ended the 2024-25 season with six consecutive victories in all competitions, a period in which they beat the likes of Barcelona and Bayer Leverkusen, ultimately falling short in Europe against Barca but finishing fourth in the Bundesliga.
After Serhou Guirassy's incredible campaign in front of goal – he netted 34 goals in 45 matches – he will have ambitions of being the Club World Cup's top scorer.
Predicted lineup: Kobel (GK), Sule, Anton, Bensebaini, Ryerson, Sabitzer, Nmecha, Svensson, Brandt, Adeyemi, Guirassy

Player to watch: Thiago Silva
Thiago Silva may be 40 years old but the Brazilian centre-back is still defying the odds, plying his trade with Fluminense, the club he played for between 2007 and 2009.
The defender has only played seven of his side's 11 league games this season, so it will be fascinating to see if he can keep up with the pace of play against Borussia Dortmund.
